I agree, something doesn’t sound right. I’m docked at the Ft. Pierce City Marina, in Florida and I keep my vhf radio tuned to channel 16, safety and calling. Prior to any live fire exercises, the Coast Guard will send an alert to mariners via channel 16 with instructions to listen to the CG channel 22A for additional information. They do keep a taped copy of their broadcasts. Now, I hoping that some reporter will ask to hear the alert that was sent out.

Interesting... I’m wondering if the reporters would even know to ask that question. Thanks for the information. If I’m understanding you correctly there was no notice given over the radios as to any exercise? Again, very interesting indeed.
