MSNBC avoiding covering current news by Replaying the morning of September 11, 2001

Posted on 09/11/2009 7:10:45 AM PDT by cc2k

Everyone needs to remember that day. And I’m glad to see some footage and reminders of the tragedy of the attacks against America on September 11.

But, one has to wonder when this decision was made. And whether this is just an excuse to avoid covering today’s news.

BTW, I didn’t see anything on “The Morning Joe” about the Baltimore ACORN scandal.

I believe they’ve done this in the past. I don’t see the problem.

They do it every Sep 11th — there is no conspiracy. We should be glad that they remind people what happened on Sep 11th as this is about the only time they bring out what happened.

On September 11 the past few years MSNBC has been replaying the original live NBC 9/11 programming. I recorded it last year. I wish I could get the other networks' live coverage from that day.

It’s not just MSNBC, it’s most of the news networks, including Fox.

Uhmmm...MSNBC has done this every year since 2002. I think maybe you should go get some sleep to enable clear thinking.

MSNBC does this every year. It’s the only time I watch MSNBC, but this is how they commemorate the day.

I think the footage should be constantly replayed, remind people of what happened.......and follow my tag line.

I guess I never noticed they did this before.

And I do think it is good that they re-run this coverage. Americans should never forget this day in 2001.

I think they do it because it’s their highest-rated show of the year. They could run Capt. Kangaroo and Mister Rogers reruns and get better ratings than they do with their day-to-day clowns and shils.

I think the footage should be constantly replayed

That would be a much better use of MSNBC... 24/7 American Memorial Channel.

They have done this before. Not avoiding the news. In fact, they probably hate doing this because it takes away from propaganda time.

I was watching the Today Show. They were doing a seriously bad job. Really, BBC America had the best camera angles and more info than anybody it seems. 9/11 made me realize I was a conservative and a republican.

As much as I hate MSNBC, this is stupid critisism. They and other stations have done this before. The conservative radio station I listen to, did the same thing this morning playing their taped broadcast from 9/11/01.

Bob Keeshan was one of the greats of American broadcasting.

MSDNC doesn't cover any news that isn't detrentmental to Republicans. They are almost laughable. I've heard their time and time and time along replays get higher rating than their live broadcasts. Bwahh!

Not only was it not a problem.
It was VERY moving to see the day unfold, the Towers come down, the dust fly and the “reporters” REPORT.
It was solemn and a good reminder of what the world is REALLY like.
Too bad we LOST the seriousness so soon.
How? The DEMOCRATS were stymied in the pursuit of their agenda until they could BLOW IT OFF!!!

Bob Keeshan was one of the greats of American broadcasting.

So was Fred Rogers. So were Wallace and Ladmo (local Phoenix TV kid-show giants of the 50s-60s-70s). Sorry; I guess it was disrespectful to have mentioned them in the same breath as MSNBC. However, I meant no disrespect. As you say: those folks are deserving of UTMOST respect!
