Sounded like a triple sonic boom here in Glendale, Ca. Ba, Ba, Boom...
Threw me off a minute as we have some people moving and the whole building shuddered. Sounded like they dropped a refrigerator or something.

Could have been the cloud layer that helped hold in the sound, causing it to sound “amplified” slightly.

57 million miles, they spend millions of $$$ and now sit on the runway, waiting for a guy with a 50 cent flashlight to tell them where to park.

I’m visiting family in Torrance. I heard the boom and it scared the stuffing out of me.

Being in Southern California, we’ve heard many of the twin boom created by the shuttles, and have watched several landing out in Edwards... Never get tired of hearing them, and these seemed exceptionally loud....You’re now a shuttle sonic boom veteran.

Could be. All I know is that this one sounded more pronounced, and somewhat of a double or triple whammy.
My wife was on the phone talking to a friend about eight miles away. She heard the sonic boom and it took about five to ten seconds for the other person to hear it.
I was on the phone once with a person when there was an earthquake aftershock. It was a Joshua Tree aftershock. They were about thirty miles away. They felt the quake long before I did. It was strange to note the advancing shock wave in that manor.

It can do that to be sure. It startled me also at first.
Then I almost immediately remembered that the shuttle was landing, and realized it would be touching down at Edwards instead of in Florida.

BK, I also failed to hear it last time, was very disappointed as I also heard it might be “last ever.” Oh, the drama.
Thrilled I heard it so GOOD yesterday:-)

Haven’t seen you in a long time:)
The booms were due west for me, unmistakeable and loud. What a thrill.
