There is the dread of leaving the house that morning. People might stare, or worse, yell insults.
Prayers are more intense, visits with family longer. Mosques become a refuge.
Eight years after 9/11, many U.S. Muslims still struggle through the anniversary of the attacks. Yes, the sting has lessened. For the younger generation of Muslims, the tragedy can even seem like a distant memory. "Time marches on," said Souha Azmeh Al-Samkari, a 22-year-old student at the University of Dayton in Ohio.
Yet, many American Muslims say Sept. 11 will never be routine, no matter how many anniversaries have passed.

Am I surprised?
No.
I sure hope that the lives of muslims in my country will never enjoy a normal day. They were all complicit by acquiescence.
The one thing I hope the cultural killers don't decide to do is once again take to the streets to celebrate the murder of 3000 Americans.
Me I will drag out the videotapes of the event and remind myself that the world will never again be the place is was until islam is again handed a decisive and permanent defeat, like the one that kept them quiet for 150 years before 911.
Where I work, they rolled out the big-screen TV’s in the cafeteria on 9/11 so that all of the employees could have access to the news.
I walked down to watch because internet streaming was darn near impossible.
I’m sitting there with about 350 other employees, CNN had just replayed the second tower hit for about the 97th time and out of the corner of my eye, slightly behind me and to my left.......I see these two yahoos leap to their feet and they are cheering and clapping wildly....
Turns out that they were temp contract employees. There was no backlash against these clowns. They weren’t allowed to leave the cafeteria, however, thanks to a couple of outstanding members of the local pipefitter’s union....;-)
HR was summoned and they were escorted out the door after their agency was notified to come pick them up. They weren’t let go because they were muslims. My company told the agency that they could not guarantee their safety if they remained in the building.
The fearful, appeasing Liberals care about their future executioners’ feelings.
Yep. See my post #42...
I don't know how much they have learned to this day. They are not trying to assimilate into Western culture, always have their women wrapped up in rags in the local malls, not learning english, not trying to fit in.
Or, go to work.....
As well they should.
In a related flashback, I’ll never forget the look of terror on my Iraqi interpreter’s face when my Platoon finished watching “United 93.”
I am sure the sting hasn’t lessened for the families and friends of the 3000 people murdered on September 11, 2001.
Empirical proof, fact on the ground, that being a moslem is highly correlated with criminal insanity.
Is that because they are American, or because they are Muslim? September 11th will never be routine for American's. And we all sincerely hope 9/11 never becomes routine for Muslims either.
My cousin’s oldest daughter lost her husband on 9/11.
A week later, their only son was born.
Yep. It’s personal.
They never will, but they should. No further comment would be needed.
I’d start looking for a new religion.
I am deeply sorry for her loss. The pain will continue for a long time. I pray God’s comfort to your family and I am working to end the hate of islam.
Thanks, Jemian...
They need to stop with the victim card already. They are the ones who bully people across the world and if they don’t like it here they can move to an Islamic country.
One thing that stands out in my mind — our people rushed into burning buildings, or helped others however they could.
Those people: Murderers. And cowards. And abusers of women and children. Real stand up guys, fine examples. Not.
Liberals often quote a bit of Scripture about “judge not, that ye be not judged.”
How about “By their fruits ye shall know them.”
