The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Wednesday shows that 33% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty-one percent (41%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -8 (see trends). Thirty-three percent (33%) say the United States is generally heading in the right direction.
Data for this daily update is collected via nightly telephone surveys and reported on a three-day rolling average basis. As a result, the overwhelmingly majority of interviews for today's update were completed before the President delivered his speech to Congress last night.
Polling conducted over the past two nights shows that 44% of voters currently favor the health care reform [LINK] proposed by the President and Congressional Democrats. Fifty-three percent (53%) are opposed. Rasmussen Reports will be tracking this measure of support daily for the next several days as an additional measure of the speech impact. A Rasmussen video report notes that 74% believe all out-of-pocket medical expenses should be tax deductible. Voters nationwide overwhelmingly believe that every American should be allowed to buy the same insurance coverage provided for Members of Congress.
The Presidential Approval Index is calculated by subtracting the number who Strongly Disapprove from the number who Strongly Approve. It is updated daily at 9:30 a.m. Eastern (sign up for free daily e-mail update). Updates also available on Twitter and Facebook.
Overall, 48% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President's performance. Fifty-one percent (51%) disapprove.

Yeah, let’s see how the polls go through next Thursday. I expect a slight blip tomorrow but back down to where they are now in a week.
0bama’s problem is that the opposition to his socialist power grab has become ingrained and deep-seated. It’s not a popular plan and people don’t want it. And we have short memories. An eloquent speech today will be long forgotten by Sunday when all we care about is our fantasy football stats.
The Narcissist in Chief overrates his power.
With the media dumping on anti-health care folks as much as they are (personified by Joe Wilson), I think that we will see the numbers start to tank again in the next day or two.

its sounds good to people look at the facts.
Most of the questioning was done BEFORE Hussein’s lie-fest last night.
Consider also that he’s going to give yet ANOTHER health care speech this morning. Sounds like he feels a bit insecure?
