General Motors Co. Chairman Edward Whitacre Jr. will be the pitchman who starts the automaker's new advertising campaign this weekend with television spots urging people to try GM's new vehicles, a person briefed on the campaign said Wednesday.

I will walk or take the bus or build my own car before I ever buy a GM or Chrysler product again. They are the Speer industries of this fascist state.
BINGO!
They are going to run TV ads in attempts to get people to try their new cars?
Really?
Seriously?
This is news?
I have seen car ads on TV all my life and this is pointless
Yeah?
NO
I hope no one buys anything made by GM or Chrysler.
No thank you. I have my old reliable Ford.
Anyone dumb enough to buy a new car in this market already did during the clunker fiasco. Car sales will be in a slump for a long time. Hussein’s plan to destroy America is moving along nicely.
GM will never see me in their showrooms while Obama the the Unions own this company.
Hmm... anyone else remember the “Try my Schlitz” ads?
And their 3rd Qtr sales reflected this and the sentiment here on FR. Then look at Fords numbers.... Someone is voting with their wallets. A new form of “Galt-ism”? perhaps.....
The union wants the “New GM” to go public as soon as possible so they can sell off their stock and turn it into cash. The UAW goal is to convert their stock to cash as soon as possible.
No thanks.
Amen and Amen. I concur one hundred percent. My family has vowed never ever to buy government union built cars again.
Mr. Whitacre had an ego of some magnitude while running SW Bell into the ground.
I guess he couldn’t resist the temptation to get face time again.
BTW, what has Mr. Whitacre run well, ever? (besides his golf cart?) ;-)
I was planning on a Chevy in the Spring, now I suppose it’ll be a Ford, or if the deal is right, a Toyota. One thing’s for sure. I’m not sending my cash to Government Motors or union owned Chrysler.
My Dad, the retired airborne ranger, drives a Corvette and, like me, was excited about the return of the Camaro and even the Challenger.
Not any more. 370Z or the BMW 335 looks better.
I’m afraid if I buy from Obama Motors the wheels will come off at 60 mph and I will be sent to an Obama Death panel to determine if I am worth saving.
I’m concerned their database will flag my political donations and even if the Death Panel says yes, save him, the political division of ObamaCare will override its decisions.
Even if it doesn’t, I’m not eager to be operated on by Obama doctors anyways.
