Rep. Joe Wilson (R-SC) apologized Wednesday night to White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel for shouting “You lie!” during President Obama’s healthcare speech before a joint session of Congress.
Emanuel accepted Wilson’s apology on behalf of the president, according to a Democratic source familiar with the call.
In addition to his phone call to Emanuel, Wilson also issued a statement separately, calling his comments “inappropriate and regrettable.”

Truth is never innapropriate.
He should have thought about his apology for a while before he decided to give it. He has now stepped on the message and made it even harder for others to state the obvious.
Thank God that someone is just speaking the truth.
WTF is he apologizing about, being the only pansy assed country clubber in the GOP who grew a tiny pair for a few seconds?

Well, yes, but I'll maintain my decorum with a breach of my britches which usually causes those without decorum to throw the first punch. (being fleet of foot is required when doing so on the streets, as are witnesses).
In the interim, those with barrels of ink are seeing their power fall. Honesty of reporting, while slow, is very powerful.
Joe Wilson did break civil protocol for an event such as this and he should apologize, but only for style and not for substance, and he should make that point very clear, which sadly, he isn’t.

Dear President Obama. I’m sorry you lie. I’m sorry I stated the obvious, too.
Real men also take responsibility for their actions, and the consequences that follow. Sometimes it's a small price to pay for speaking the truth, a price that I would gladly pay if I were in his place. You don't have to respect the man, but you do have to respect the office. Similarly, he shouldn't apologize for what was said, just the manner in which it was said.

It is regrettable... that he apologized. It is regrettable that every Republican congressman didn’t stand up and call him a liar. It is regrettable that there is a liar in the Oval Office. It is regrettable the American voters, with the help of ACORN et al, voted into office such thieves and lowlifes.

I don’t mind the apology. It will happen again. Nancy Pelosi, be prepared. She IS the biggest liar in the Rotunda and she needs to hear it. Silence is complicity.
