Matthew Vadum recently reported that Barack Obama was operating under the radar to subvert observances of the anniversary of the September 11 attacks by using anti-American leftists Van Jones and Lennox Yearwood to hijack the day with a radical environmental agenda under the guise of Green the Block, a joint project of their respective groups Green for All and the Hip Hop Caucus.
Sure enough, the project has been pretty much ignored by the media, even by the conservative media that covered the Van Jones saga.
Below are examples of events listed at Green the Block for this Friday, September 11, 2009--the eight anniversary of the attacks.

Counterprogramming 9/11. What a bunch of perverts.
And please hurry so as to cut our losses to our traditional American Capitalism, our free enterprise system and all our other precious Freedoms!!!
This is more like GANG-GREENING the block that was busted previously!!!
That son of a ....! What a lowlife scumbag.
Pray for our country and pray that America wakes up, before it's too late, to the evil that has inhabited the WH.
Just when you thought it was enough.
I think people should show up at these events with huge sandwich signs, with color photos on front and back showing the REALITY of September 11, 2001.
This is pure Hugo Chavez neighborhood barrior organization for communism, nothing more, nothing less--and on the graves of those who perished 8 years ago.
UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry for the graphic comment but I can barely contain myself over this.
WOW a real party the only thing missing are the flyovers. /sarc
Green the Block Mission
Green the Block seeks to ensure that low-income communities and communities of color have the resources and platforms needed to access the benefits and opportunities of the growing clean-energy economy. The four pillars of the Green The Block campaign are:
Education and awareness
Legislative advocacy
Youth activism
Private-sector development
The campaign is principled on the foundation that a clean energy economy can address the joint crises of poverty and pollution at the same time. Pollution and poverty hurts everyone, but it hurts low-income and communities of color the most.
The solution is two-fold, just and equitable climate and energy legislation at all levels of government and grassroots efforts to engage and educate the communities that can’t afford another gray economy that works for a select few.
The Coalition
Green For All and The Hip Hop Caucus and are co-convening a diverse coalition of national and local organizations to support the principles of Green the Block, elevate successful local and city-wide green economy models, and build awareness and educate communities of color about the social, environmental and economic benefits of going green.

several Obama Administration officials — including Department of Housing and Urban Development Secretary Shaun Donovan and Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lisa Jackson, and Department of Energy Under Secretary Kristina Johnson — and members of Green the Block held a press conference outside the West Wing offices of the White House to discuss opportunities in the new green economy and announce the first major initiative of Green the Block.
“From policy creation to community implementation, the Green the Block campaign wants to see access and opportunity created for all Americans, to build prosperity and a healthier planet for future generations,” said Rev. Lennox Yearwood, Jr. of the Hip Hop Caucus. “The first milestone for Green the Block will be on our National Day of Service, September 11, 2009, where we will organize Green the Block service events around the country in coordination with the President’s initiative, United We Serve.”
“We are ready to work, ready to serve, and ready to green our blocks,” added Phaedra Ellis-Lamkins of Green for All.
DISGUSTING.
This is an absolute smack in the face to those who were murdered on 9/11 and their families.
Red jihadist filth.Every day there are new outrages..
Ping
This pretty much sickens me.
Why doesn’t Obama invite his Palestinian friends over and they can all just dance in the streets and celebrate 9ll.
Ooooops, I guess that is what they are doing....
