In letter after death, Kennedy urged health reform

In a letter delivered after his death, late senator Ted Kennedy called for 2009 to be the year of long-awaited US health care reform, President Barack Obama said.

Obama told US lawmakers he had received the letter just a few days ago after Kennedy died on August 25 having lost his 15-month battle with brain cancer.

The Democratic lion had voiced confidence that this year "that great unfinished business of our society", which he worked for during almost five decades in the US Senate, would be passed, Obama said.

"He repeated the truth that health care is decisive for our future prosperity, but he also reminded me that it concerns more than material things," the US president said, as Kennedy's widow Vicki, and his two sons, Patrick and Teddy Jr, watched the address.

"'What we face,' he wrote, 'is above all a moral issue; at stake are not just the details of policy, but fundamental principles of social justice and the character of our country.'" Obama said.

It was only a matter of time. Dems can run for office and vote after death so why not send letters.

He dared speek of morality and character when he approves the unmittigated slaughter and genocide of innocent babies?

How about that morality, Mr. President?

I wonder how many infantile media chumps actually believe this letter exists? All the "nuanced" eurotrash I suppose, but then they don't really count do they.

Honest to God .. there are NO depths of
twisted depravity and sympathy whoring
to which they won’t go .. even to the grave.

What kind of pen do you use there, Ted ?

Not hot enough for him. With all the lives he ruined and the blood on his hands. Not nearly hot enough by a long shot.

Did they saw when this letter was ‘supposed’ to be written exactly?
My questions are:
A) Why did they wait so long to read it? It could have been read at the funeral with all the other propaganda begging to pass health care for Kennedy.
B) If they just now received it, how could Kennedy have known the bill had not went through yet?

Which makes me have serious doubts about of the authenticity of this letter in every aspect.

“’What we face,’ he wrote, ‘is above all a moral issue; at stake are not just the details of policy, but fundamental principles of social justice...”

You mean the morality and social justice of leaving a woman to die of asphyxiation in an overturned car in dark, cold water without trying to save her, Ted?

The letter (if it actually exists) was written by Obama’s speech writer after Teddy died.

All of the pictures of the swimmer over the last several months showed “weekend at Bernies”. He was out of it. No way he wrote any letter. What a bunch of sorry losers. Really pathetic.
