You hear about people who are sick but don't have health care, and suddenly they get a bill for $100,000, and there's no way they can pay for it, and they're about to lose their house. And youre just reminded that the country is full of really good people who sometimes are going through a hard time, Obama said.
They just need a break. They need a little bit of help. Maybe the way things are set up right now isn't always fair for people, and that motivates you, because you say, well, I can't make everything perfect, I can't prevent somebody from getting sick, but maybe I can make sure that they've got insurance so that when they do get sick, they're going to get some help.
Another student asked the president about health care in Iraq and Afghanistan: And my question is, currently 36 countries have universal health coverage, including Iraq and Afghanistan, which have it paid for by the United States. Why can't the United States have universal health

I’ll bet the kid’s mom/dad is a Democrat contributor, that or the union teacher ‘helped’ the kid with the question.
One item in the health bill that I have not seen addressed. I’d like them to explain what “Y1” means, how it is going to be used and the effect on the people.

quite the con artist. He can’t help himself, can he. Need to follow up to see if that pre-speech indoctrination makes it on to the WH follow-up “relationship dialogue” with our children.
MY BIL was deathly ill in 2000. All of his organs were shutting down. He was touch and go for a few days, miraculously he made it. He also needed weeks of kidney dialysis afterwards. He had no health “insurance” but he received the best health CARE and it saved his life. His out-of-pocket cost for a 3 week life-saving stay in a hospital and the follow-up dialysis...ZERO!
He did wind up losing his house though, but not from the high cost of his medical bills. He lost his job.
Bet he was originally going to broadcast this question and answer session across the Country until there was a huge uproar.
hmmm
He was originally scheduled for an hour and it was cut to 15 minutes. I would take it to be bank the question and answer was going to be a major part of his address.

Tail wagging the dog argument.
You don’t throw out the entire system, because there are a few people for who it doesn’t work. You MODIFY the PART of the system that isn’t working.
Just incase you missed it in the founding documents, Obama. Ameerica wasn’t founded to be fair but to give everyone the same opportunity to make of it what they wanted.
There was a fellow [soldier] on the radio today who has served in Iraq
and he said there is no National Health care there.
So whose right about this?
It would be interesting to find out from the student where
he got his info?
That was the speech the entire country of kids would have heard, if there hadn’t been so much outrage.
