The presidential speech that sparked a political firestorm aired in many central Ohio schools yesterday with little fuss -- and even some apathy among its targeted audience. "Basically, most of the people I talked to didn't care about the speech," said Kayla McGuire, a Centennial High School senior who is a member of the Dispatch Youth Team, a group of about 20 high-school students. "It wasn't so much that they didn't want to hear it; it was that they weren't interested. Those are things that our teachers and parents tell us every day."

Yeah, but it was really fun making life miserable for the Lefty principal at my kid’s school. She acted like it was the Sermon on the Mount...
There was so much protest at my grandchildrens school they didn’t show it.
Now, let’s see the original version before the uproar.....
They don't pay attention to what he says anymore than their parents who voted for him did during the campaign.
“Now, lets see the original version before the uproar.....”
Schoolkids wouldn’t have paid any attention to whatever that was either.
They didn’t show it at my kid’s school either. :D
My 7th grader saw it, but my 8th grader didn’t. Same school so I guess it depended on the teacher.
My 7th grader said it was just “kinda stupid”.
They don’t like it when his speeches interupt their regularly scheduled programming at home. Its hard to see them get too charged up about him at school.
It was never the speech that was the problem. It was what the teachers were going to say and do before, during and after.
I tried to post the picture Drudge has, but I don’t know how to post a picture. Copy & paste does not work.
(homeschooling rocks)
But even so, our local schools sent out a letter to all parents saying they had no intention of showing it district wide, that individual classrooms may or may not decide to show it based on how it fit into each teacher's respective curricula, and those who planned to show it would be offering an opt out for all their students.
We’ll never know what was in his original speech and based on the suggested ‘lessons’ to do before, during and after it, I’m betting it was indoctrinational. Hell, he’s still re-writing tonights speech.
The foot is in the door/the camel's nose is under the tent.
I think part of the original version was the question and answer before he gave the speech — the way the questions were phrased, I would bet he was going to televise this either before or after his speech.
My daughter’s school recorded it to be shown MAYBE at a later date. IF it is shown, parents need to sign a permission slip saying its ok for the kid to see it. Otherwise, it’s assumed that permission is not given lol.
“My parents are right, this guy is dumber than a box of rocks”

Now the media is developing in-school teams? Just great!
What tricks haven't the leftists tried?
Is this a liberal paper? Whether or not, get them out of the schools.
