Obama: I was too ambiguous on healthcare reform By Sam Youngman - 09/09/09 09:34 AM ET
President Barack Obama said Wednesday he has left too much ambiguity in what he wants for healthcare reform, allowing his opponents to control the message.
The morning before his address on healthcare to a joint session of Congress, Obama said he took a relatively hands-off approach out of an effort to give Congress the ability to do their thing and not step on their toes.
That allowed opponents of reform to come in and to fill up the airwaves with a lot of nonsense everything from the this ridiculous idea that we were setting up death panels to false notions that this was designed to provide health insurance to illegal immigrants, Obama said in an interview on ABCs "Good Morning America."
He also criticized a broader notion of a government takeover of healthcare, which none of the bills that worked their way through Congress ever envisioned.
Obamas speech Wednesday night is intended to get the White House back in control of a debate it has been ceding ground on for the past month. Critics have decried a public health insurance option Obama has supported, saying its implementation would lead to government-run healthcare by driving private insurers out of business.

Naw, Obummer just thought that America would sign a blank sheet of paper because of his teleprompter seances.
The magic smoke is gone — The moo has been knocked off the ‘siah.
His middle name is ambiguous! LOL!
What a legacy he is building for himself!
Can a single “conservative” in the media or in DC please articulate the simple argument that....
“Government involvement means government control”
This BS from Zero needs to be blown out of the water once and for all.
He’s a bigger liar than Clinton.
He’s also an arrogant a**.
And now Congress goes under the bus.
On the contrary. We KNEW.
Sarah nailed his scrawny a$$ to the wall on three basic points. He won’t recover from this.
You were also ambiguous about your life story, which is odd for someone who produced 2 autobiographies.
Honestly, this is getting ridiculously painful to witness. I can’t even open the paper any more because the stories of this man imploding are wearing me out. Its like watching a snail writhe under a sprinkle of salt. Please......just go away!
Not opponents of reform. Opponents of Socialist reform.
You guys won’t even fix part of the real problem, tort reform. You were afraid of pissing off the trial lawyers.
Isn’t that something . . . whenever this fool has his ideas rejected by his subjects, he has to claim that he has to rephrase it because we’re just so stupid . . . not that it stinks . . . but that we’re stupid.
“Obama: I was too ambiguous on healthcare reform”
No, Zer0, the details of what you have proposed frightened everybody that read it.
Ambiguity?? I thought it was perfectly clear what they’re foisting on us.
“I was too ambiguous on healthcare reform”
Ya think??? America is sick to death of the ‘OJT’ bumbling this a%$ clown is putting us through.
It was just reported on the 11am news that Obama believes that the "PUBLIC OPTION" i.e., GOVERNMENT RUN, SINGLE- PAYER DEATH CARE MUST BE AN ESSENTIAL PART OF HIS DEATH CARE BILL and Obama said the "THE MAJORITY OF AMERICANS SUPPORT THE PUBLIC OPTION"!
This is what Obama is going to press home and try to force down our throats tonight during the prime-time arm twisting speech! Obama is DELUSIONAL!
ambiguous my ass...he doesn’t even have his own bill
he let the Reds in congress write it so he can come to the rescue like a moderate
we are not suckers
This guy is the most retarded liar ever to hold the WH!
Bill Clinton was a lovable dunce compared to this bastard.
