CHICAGO (AP) -- Former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich said Tuesday that statements he made on secret FBI wiretap tapes were taken out of context by prosecutors and that he might try to call senators and a top White House official as witnesses at his racketeering and fraud trial to back his version of events.

Another possible witness he said would be former House Speaker Dennis Hastert, R-Ill.
I was naive about Tony Rezko," Blagojevich said. "But so was Barack Obama." He noted that Rezko raised money for Obama's campaigns and took part in a real estate deal that resulted in Obama buying his Chicago home. He also said that while another former chief of staff, Alonzo Monk, had been one of his closest friends for 30 years, Monk had never told him that he had received thousands of dollars from Rezko.

We might wake up one day to the news that Blago was found on a train incoherent having “lost his mind”.

and for someone as Blago re: Operation Board Games it seems the feds are giving him a LOT of leeway as to what he is saying and not saying.

He was on Greta tonight and I almost feel off my chair laughing when he talked about ZERO misjuding Rezko and so did he. In fact, the whole interview was hilarious. The Feds won’t allow them to release the tapes. Wonder why? Bet it goes right to the top.
Greta even gave him advice on how to get the tapes released.
He knows where all the corruption is in Chicago it looks like and probably why Emmanuel took him out — big mistake — he is going to take anyone down he can to prove he did not sell the seat. This is going to get good.
Man that says it all. My respect for Blago grows.
He's a thief, but an honest thief. Which is pretty good for Illinois politics.
