| Bill to Restrict Ammunition Sales Amended in California |
| Tuesday, September 08, 2009 |
|
Please Continue Contacting Your State Senator in Opposition! On Friday, during consideration of Assembly Bill 962, the California Senate amended AB962 to remove some of the more outrageous provisions of the bill in an effort to make it easier to pass. Despite these amendments, AB962 remains a serious threat to the rights of California's law-abiding gun owners. It is critical that you continue contacting your State Senator to voice your opposition to this bill. AB962 could be voted on by the Senate as early as tomorrow, Wednesday, September 9. The Senate removed a requirement that ammunition retailers be licensed to sell ammunition. In addition, the bill would no longer prohibit the private transfer of more than 50 rounds of ammunition during a 30 day period. Despite these changes to the bill, AB962 is still unacceptable and represents a dire threat to our ability to exercise our Second Amendment rights. Ammunition retailers would still have to store ammunition in such a manner that it would be inaccessible to purchasers. The bill still requires that individuals purchasing ammunition be fingerprinted at the time of sale, mandates that dealers keep these records and make them available for inspection by the Department of Justice. Finally, mail order ammunition sales are still prohibited under AB962. |
Stock up during your AZ visits, Calis.
Or better yet move out of that God forsaken state....
I bet this would be the single exception to Ahnolds vow to veto all bills that don’t deal with californica’s economy...
Hey, we'll take their gun owners and they can have our illegal aliens.
This will be a gunshow killer. I buy most of my ammo from them.
Thanks for the offer but now is the time to fight, not run!
The dems are about to get their red asses spanked the hard way.
I passed up the last gun show at Del Mar when the parking lot attendant wanted to extort $9 for parking before I paid the $12 admission to a show where I was unlikely to buy anything at all. I really have to find a bargain to ever come close to breaking even on a show. If/when that occurs, it is often a barrel for a T/C G2 Contender or Encore. By the time I factor in travel, parking and admission, my local gun shops are a much better deal for ammo and accessories. I sometimes pick up brass and bullets for reloading. Non-factory reloads are often a crap shoot...in every manner that phrase can be understood.
No. Californians have infected too many states already with their tofu and liberal socialist politics.
50 rounds in 30 days. I can easily expend 150 rounds in a session. Then what? Wait 3 months before I can go to the range again. Communist jerks. Who needs Obama when you have the Kalifornia Communist legislature.
That said, “Hellooooooooooo Reno Gun Show!”
Disclaimer for ATF: I ONLY RENT GUNS. I DON’T OWN ANY MYSELF. GUNS ARE EVIL AND DANGEROUS AND ONLY CRAZY RIGHT WINGERS OWN THEM. I AM A MAN OF PEACE. I HATE GUNS.
The gun shows in Reno and Vegas will sell more than ever.
WTF!!! Don’t these idiots have anything better to do - like try to keep CA solvent?
A Republican legislator needs to put forth a bill to limit the number of pens.....just to make a point.
The 2A is absolute, as is the 1st.
Ammo smugglers wanted in Kalifornication land.
DO THESE AMMUNITION LIMITS ALSO APPLY TO THE SECURITY FORCES WHO PROTECT THE LEGISLATORS?
AND IF NOT, WHY NOT?
Our gunshow comes thru about 6 times per year and costs about $12 with parking. I'm hooked, even though many times I buy nothing but ammo. Maybe I'll see a .22WMR barrel for my T/C G2.
