ABC News' Sunlen Miller Reports: After emerging from a nearly hour meeting with the President, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said that there is now 90% agreement on the way forward for health care reform.
“Even before the August recess, 80 percent of health care is already done,” Reid said, “In our conversations today, we think we're up to 90 percent of things there are agreed upon. We have 10 percent that we need to work on, and we can do that.”
Pelosi and Reid sat down with the President and the Vice President for Oval Office this afternoon and emerged in front of reporters upbeat.
“The president and vice president were very positive,” Reid said, “And it's in keeping with the conversations I've had with my members the past week; that is, we're reenergized, we're ready to do health care reform.”
Pelosi said it is an exciting time and there is “plenty to work from” for the Finance Committee to act.
Reid said he, like the White House, has not seen a copy of Senator Baucus’s draft bill yet.
The Majority Leader said that they are working on the 10% areas of disagreement and said they are still approaching this in the form of bipartisanship but did not rule out reconciliation.

Because, the only way they can get it through is to get it done before people know what is in it. And notice - not in effect until AFTER 2012 ELECTIONS so it will not interfere with his re-election bid. Then 2013 - the real onslaught begins as all cost cuts in the future will be in the name of Medicare, will be at the expense of the really sick but will pay for all illegals.
Wonderful. All of us and our children want a health care system that kills off the weak, the sick, the old, the handicapped. It makes for such a wonderful society - only the selfish young get the funds and of course there will be no funds - because the funds will be diverted by THE GOVERNMENT to their cronies, foreign contacts all in the name of draining the wealth from America and putting in the hands - not of the poor - but of marxist rulers.
Stand and fight while you can - only the ignorant think this is the way to go.

Never trust John McCain. Just watch - he is playing for the highest payoff benefit for him along with his crony Lindsay.
He will become so enamored of having Obama personally call him to use his power to “work this out” that he will revel in being the power broker to “sell us into slavery to a life which will end when the government wants the money spent on you and me for some perk for them or to redistribute the funds to be used on you for some political gain for them.
I never thought such was even a possibility in America - the land of the free.

Yes, I think you have sized up Obama exactly and the crowd he plays to. But he has also fooled a lot of people who are well-intentioned but at the same time simply gullible.
Yes, we must continue to speak out while we are still allowed to. But how much longer will free speech be allowed? Obama's buddy Chavez is busy shutting down radio stations in Venezuela. If Obama, Pelosi and Reid succeed in nationalizing health care, they will be emboldened. They will go on to shut down free speech and political debate as well.
Now some will say that is a slippery slope argument and not valid. But some slopes are slippery, and once you start down them, you can't stop until you reach the bottom.
And it won’t matter what the bills says. The Once’s czars will implement whatever they want.

Yes Nancy, this IS an exciting time. The American Public is waking up and finally realizing that their Government, lead by idiots like you, has been screwing them to the wall for decades.
Maybe even term limits might become a reality very soon. Corruption takes time, Term Limits keep them honest and passing laws making legislators accountable/liable before or after are only reasonable.
