Families who fail to get health insurance could be fined up to $3,800 under a health care reform plan proposed by a top Senate negotiator.
Sen. Max Baucus, D-Mont., who as chairman of the Senate Finance Committee is leading talks among the "Gang of Six" senators to hammer out a bipartisan compromise, offered what he described on Tuesday as a "framework" and not a "final product."
But the detailed proposal comes just days ahead of a self-imposed Sept. 15 deadline for such a deal. Baucus is pushing his committee members hard to hammer out a bill, and those details come as strong suggestions.

Max must go! People of Montana, please throw this bum out.
What do you think goes into the decision to make it exactly $3,800. Not $4,000, not $3,500, Not $3,800.47.
These Capitol Hill liars and sociopaths should find some other, nonessential issues to mess with.

SO, what if your so poor you can’t afford health ins. now they are gonna hit you with a 4000 fine?
WTF!!?!?!??!!
Go to hell, “Senator”
Why Montanans don’t throw this socialist under the bus is baffling.
He’s a democrat and therefore an enemy of wealth. It’s the republican members of the gang that need to be (metaphorically) hung. If the party allows any of its members to vote for this travesty and still be considered republicans in good standing, I am officially no longer a republican.
You would think that they would throw him out, especially when they get the bill!
What is it with Democrats and their need to control and tax people?
What is this “Gang of Six” - John McCain and friends? It isn’t a matter of whether they will screw us, just a matter of when!
What stupid presentations such as this should do is piss off one Hell of a lot of people in this country, because it says to us all this man, and his “gang” don’t understand who they are, what they are relative to us, and they don’t have a clue, or care a whit about the Constitution they are supposed to be upholding as OUR public servant Representatives.
Bump. See post 13
How is this even remotely Constitutional?
This all makes sense doesn’t it?
There is a long list of these manufactured crises by the left, this one is the worst, the oceans rising and drowning us all is a close second.
Poor, Minorities, Single Mothers and Children hardest hit.
