I hate to sound like one of those crazy "birthers", but something Barry Soeto said today in his (mostly commendable) suck-up to tomorrow's voters caught my attention. It's just that the "Kenyan" birth certificate now the subject of legal action, the claim, on U.S. radio by the Kenyan ambassador to the U.S. that Barry was born in Kenya, and now this friendly, off-hand comment a minute or so into his speech, have me wondering..... My mother couldn't afford to send me to the school where all the AMERICAN kids went.

Does Obama sound like he considered himself one of the "Americans?" Just wondering.
They were Americans..He was not.
From the text:
“When I was young, my family lived in Indonesia for a few years, and my mother didnt have the money to send me where all the American kids went to school.”
Not “where all the OTHER American kids went to school.”
Did he really say that?
You’re reaching, IMO.
Not “the other Americans”...
Oh this is truly one of the most idiotic things I have ever read.
How stupid can you be?
They couldn’t afford to go where the American kids went, so he, an American, had to be educated at home. Duh!
I wish there was something to the birther stuff, but there isn’t. He is NOT slipping up here, just saying he couldn’t go where the other American kids did.
Moron.
He never has been “one of US” and he never will be, by his own choice.
Hmmm - didn’t he go to a private school while in Indonesia?
I don’t think you’re paranoid, at least not without good reason. I caught this “slip” when the advance copy of the speech came out over the weekend, and was surprised nobody in the conservative media picked up on it. I also think his speech today, so full of conservative notions, was intended to anesthetize us so he can use future speeches and school communications to plant his little red/green seeds.
And just where did his mother learn the language that fast to be conversant???
If he wasn’t born in America, his sainted mother was the world’s whiz at getting him in and out of the country illegally.
You mean just like his unintended mis speak “ my Muslim faith “ ?
Agreed. Much ado over nothing much at all.
And don’t reply that he doesn’t say “other” because that’s just asinine.
The lack of “other” doesn’t mean anything. If you read the context and hear him say it, he clearly is saying he couldn’t afford to go where the other Americans did go.
Similar to “my Muslim faith”...
I had the same reaction when I heard that!!!!! After life beats one up for a few scores, one realizes some smoke does come from fire...don’t one?
Stretching.
