A May 2009 video of California gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman praising Van Jones, which was posted by TWI yesterday, has inspired a parody video from the campaign of California Insurance Commissioner Steve Poizner. It touches all the bases, portraying Whitman as an out-of-touch elitist who hobnobs not just with a man who called Republicans assholes, but with Jimmy Carter.
Michael Goldfarb has Whitman responding by saying she did not do a background check of his past over dinner and its clear that he holds views that I entirely reject. But that doesnt even cover her comments in the original video. Whitman didnt say she had one dinner with him; she said got to know him very well, pronounced herself a huge fan, then wondered whether Jones would put someone in charge of what hes doing here in Oakland. Four months ago, Whitman wanted reporters to know that she was friendly with an environmental activist who would be working for Obama. Now, Jones is a guy she met at dinner.
The Whitman walkback rings of Obamas infamous (on the right) comment that Bill Ayers was a guy who lives in the neighborhood.

Did anyone really expect any other type of behavior from a Liberal masquerading as a Republican?
She’s a McCain Republican, for goodness sake.
That’s all you need to know.
Bingo!
Meggie is a McCain “governmentalist.” We know best and you people don’t matter.
I’d been getting her emails but as soon as her quote was heard, I unsubscribed. Wonder how many others also did?
Meg Whitman is actually a Mitt Romney protege. She only worked for McCain for a while after Romney was forced out of the race. Whitman had endorsed Romney and worked on his campaign.
"But for the next year and a half, the center of Romney's political universe will shift west to Sacramento, where key parts of his operation have reassembled on behalf of Meg Whitman, a longtime friend and former business colleague who this month entered next year's Republican primary to become the governor of California."
Either way, she’s unfit for full participation in a free society, much less public office.
Here is Meg Whitman introducing the name and promoting Van Jones to reporters.

I unsubscribed, but first, I wrote her a blistering email and then unsubscribed. I was hesitant about voting for her anyways, because of her close relationship with Romney. But, I was caught up in the first female Governor status, but no more.
She’s squishy about off-shore drilling (telling Glenn Beck she was against it, but then later, telling a local newspaper that she’s “open to it). I’m tired of these faux conservatives refusing to have a stand on anything. I told her if it means I’m stuck with Jerry Brown, so be it. Apparently, there isn’t much of a difference between her and Brown, so I’m not voting for her.
Two things.
She was gushing about knowing him when in fact she probably didn’t know him at all, she probably sat at the same table with him at dinner one night. She just knew that it sounded cool for her to know him.
And secondly, the problem with her supposedly knowing him is the fact that she was on a global warming cruise and she was praising him for his work on global warming.
We don’t need any more global warming Republicans. And we sure don’t need another global warming Republican in California; we’ve already got one in Sacramento. If she was selling herself as the anti-Swartzenegger, she just blew it.
Please, a note to any global warming Republicans out there, do some reading. Catch up. Don’t embarrass yourself in public.
You summed it up nicely.
McCain Republican? No, She’s another Snowe.
*SADLY* we’ve got nothing but RINOs running in *CALIFORNIA*.
I *PRAY* Tom McClintock will enter the race *SOON*!
I don’t think Tom can do much at this time. Give it another election when it will no doubt be worse. These dumb a$$es out here still can’t get the picture.
I have not been keen on Meg Whitman, mostly based on her support for McCain, but how can any resonable person speak so highly of such a Marxist. Either she likes his liberal ideas or was “walking across the aisle”. Either way, she will not get my support.
