Before all of the hoopla, this is what Obama's speech WAS really going to be about:

All cleaned up and shiny bright! We probably won’t ever know what was in the original version, but you can bet your bippy it wasn’t this fairy tale.
Reading through it, it doesn’t read correctly in the first third or so of the speech - I’m betting that’s where it was scrubbed. Something is missing in there... a LOT of something.
We do know what was intended;
But critics objected to the language of one of the lesson plans, for students in pre-kindergarten through grade 6, that suggested that students “write letters to themselves about what they can do to help the president.”
Another assignment for students after hearing the speech was to discuss what “the president wants us to do.”
Not completely. His little talk is rife with references to government control of education: We're going to fix things, we're going to get you new computers, books, school buildings, etc. "I am working hard...."
If by some miracle, the emails of the speech's drafts are kept by the Bureau of Covering Hussein's Ass, as required by law, we may someday know what the speech was meant to say.
That’s true, it is all cleaned up and I am grateful for that. As much as I dislike so much about this administration, so far of what I got from the speech is - that it is good.
I think he could have layed off of children’s responsibility to the country. I think that is a lot to demand from school age children when most of them do not think that far in advance. He probably should have left it to study hard, blah, blah, blah. So, that part bothered me that he emphasised it so much. I am sure it may have something to do with his later requests for service. In that case, it bothers me. But, he added some personal notes that may go far with those who are growing up in bad circumstances.
I still feel it is up to the parents to shows it to their kids and I hope that the schools do not have activities that go with this speech.
If someone sees something else or any concerns in the speech that I missed, please point it out to me. I read through it pretty fast.
You can expect Owebama to use this speech as a wedge to make other speeches on a regular basis to our kids. Incrementalism at the basic level.
The communists knew that they couldn't go with the original plan, so they threw us some moderate garbage until his next transmission.
