The very phrasing of this poll is insulting “Should schoolchildren be ALLOWED to watch President Obama’s speech Tuesday? “
Like it’s something the children are being FORBIDDEN by those evil conservatives in control of the media, and Comrade Obambi is the victim of a vast right wing conspiracy!
Let’s freep them to hell!
Trick question. Of COURSE they should be ALLOWED to watch the president speak.
The question should be: Should kids be ALLOWED to NOT watch the obama speech?
What do we expect coming from the land of Snowe and Collins.
Does this include saying a prayer at graduation ceremonies or forming a Bible club?
These people are nothing more then hypocrits and wrap themselves in the First Amendment when it's convenient.
Do you support the Department of Education, breaking the law, by providing lesson plans that support a partisan political position?
A speech from the president to schoolchildren is not wrong- in fact it’s a good idea. What’s WRONG is the multitude of lesson plans and teacher directives that come with this speech.
This illustrates the disadvantage of living in a soundbite world. Van Jones got canned because he called Republicans a bad word? pppfffttt..hardly. Conservatives are against the president speaking to schoolkids? No.
Keep Freeping, we have now got the lead!
Children should be “allowed” to watch a political speech AT HOME if approved by their parents. Children should not be forced to view a political speech AT SCHOOL because it is distributed by the schools.
It is not a question of being allowed. It is a question of intent...
Under pressure from democrat lawmakers and liberal teacher’s union members in Maine, RSU #67 Superintendent Marcinkus REVERSED his decision, and will now allow the video to be played to children in school district RSUY #67.
This poll is in Maine.....people here would sacrifice their young for barry.
I voted NO.
The word “allowed” should have been “made” to watch. There wouldn’t be a problem if this aired at 6 pm when the child is “allowed” to watch at home and his parents are “allowed” to discuss it with him.
I signed the paper sent home that lets my teens off from watching it if their teachers air it. They are old enough to recognize flim flam so I told them they could watch it or use my signature as a get out of jail free card to go off with their friends. In our school, most would be ignoring the speech or laughing at it.
“allowed” or “forced”?
Got some real journalistic geniuses in Bangor.
I didn't answer the question for that reason. I don't care if the students are allowed to watch the speech, but on the other hand I don't think they should be required to watch it either.
Yes: 273 votes (37%)
No: 474 votes (63%)
Yes

No
522 votes (64%)
ALL RIGHT, we’re gaining % wise
I didn't like the question either, but that doesn't keep me from sticking it to the libs.
This is why conservatives regularly lose, always so persnickity and putting too fine a line on things like the wording on this cleverly-worded poll.
Do as the Left does......AND FREEP THIS POLL!. Hold your delicate noses and let 'em have it! Blow 'em away. Some folks here need more lessons in Alinsky tactics, I see.
