Here's an FR thread from when Mark Lloyd's article on the "Structural Imbalance in Broadcast Talk Radio" first appeared.
TOPICS: Constitution/Conservatism; Government; News/Current Events; Politics/Elections
KEYWORDS: alinsky; alteredtitle; borked; czar; fcc; firstamendment; lloyd; lloydisnext; marklloyd
Van Jones is gone. Mark Lloyd should be next. He's a Czar. He's a leftie. He wants to impose a fascistic scheme to broadcast speech.
Good Glenn Beck video essay [click here] and go to "Free Airwaves?"

I agree. Mark Lloyd is another leftist crackpot and he MUST go. He is a direct threat to our freedom.
I wonder if Mark Lloyd ever heard of Air America? It was a liberal/left talk radio format. The network was everything a leftist ever could hope for. But there's only one problem. The liberal/leftist has a whole lot of choices. There's ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, PBS/NPR, etc. And I'm not going to even talk about MSNBC. So Air America failed because nobody listened to it. How sad. Can you blame that on conservatives? Well maybe a guy like Lloyd can. Look if people what to listen to liberal talk radio they already have NPR. So the liberal media is saturated with choices.
Mark Lloyd must go.

Nice! Thanks for #9,
Cindy.Did you just do a search then post a link to it? How's that work? Very handy . . .

Seems to me that Lloyd's motive isn't really to promote fairness in talk radio, but rather, to put out of business conservative talk radio. The libs are desperately seeking a legal means to "hush Rush."
Glenn Beck's video, linked in #1 above is very clear and easy to follow.
Essentially, they see this as a way to dodge the resurrection of the Fairness Doctrine (because that's too obvious,) and advocate an approach that sounds a little less offensive but will, in the long run, destroy talk radio anyway. Grrrrrr . . .

Interesting contrast on Drudge this morning. Chavez stopped by the Venice film festival to accept the adoration of Oliver Stone and friends who maintain the US demonizes him.
On another part of the page, there are tens of thousands of Chavez' own people (taking the occasion of his absence from the country?) to say, "No mas Chavez"!!! Very telling.
AND Mark Lloyd is a fan of Chavez. . . .
