Rush and Malloys Gossip column in the New York Daily News reports today that Bill Clintons offices are infested with bed bugs, and employees have been evacuated during treatment:
"Bedbugs have sent Bill Clinton and his staff fleeing the former Presidents offices, a source tells us. No word on whether WJC actually has a bed in his Harlem suite, but the infestation is said to have been so bad that exterminators told Clintonistas to take a few days off."
Thats all we know so far.
I do not wish bed bugs on anyone, but one positive outcome is that high profile bed bug infestations like this one (and the current one at Penguin) raise peoples awareness about the spread of bed bugs and about the possibility that any location really can become infested with bed bugs.
An infested set of offices in Harlem is not an isolated incident; bed bugs may have come to Clintons offices via someones infested home, or through the walls from an infested neighbor, via someone visiting the offices, or someone elses commute to work.

Unless he’s sleeping there, or using the office as a bachelor pad, why are bed bugs a problem?
This is bound to happen when you use your office furniture as beds.
He picks up illegal alien women just off the boat.
Bed Bugs or Pubic Crabs??
And he did NOT have a sexual relation with those bugs!
No, but I do think that they enjoyed sucking on him all night long.
*ducks for cover*
I feel quite sure that bed bugs aren't the only thing Clinton's office is infested with.
Is he ever there? And what does he do if he is?
UHHHH.... o never mind...
Trying to dig up (more) dirt on him by bugging his office bed? ;-D
There has been an explosion of bedbugs lately. I assume some previously common remedy has been outlawed or something. Anyone know?
Um, hum.
DDT worldwide
A quick thought experiment: what happens when an elite limousine liberal wants to spray his property with DDT?
I’m in the hospitality industry and I can tell you they used to be treated with DDT. There are also many more travelers coming to the US from other parts of the world and sometimes those bugs are immune to the treatements used in this country now.
The thing about bed bugs is that they don’t only infest beds ~ carpet, couches, clothing, luggage ~ anything is fair game. They travel from room to room so if a hotel has them in one room they usually treat the rooms to each side and above and below that room.
Then if you’ve stayed in a room that had them your suitcase comes home infested as well as the clothes in the suitcase and thus your house now has bed bugs. If you suspect you have them immediately throw out the suitcase, wash your clothes in the hottest water possible and contact a company like Eco-Lab pest control in case you want to proactively treat your home.
Good question. I’ve often wondered if DDT will return when enough of those Manhattan libs get bedbugs.
From what I understand we used to spray our soldiers with DDT in WW2 Pacific theatre to protect against mosquitos. Can’t be too bad, right?
“From what I understand we used to spray our soldiers with DDT in WW2 Pacific theatre to protect against mosquitos. “
and now most of them are dead.
“I feel quite sure that bed bugs aren’t the only thing Clinton’s office is infested with. “
Scabies, probably!
More like crabs.
