WASHINGTON President Barack Obama's "Green Jobs Czar" Van Jones quit late last night after pressure mounted over his extremist history first exposed in WND.
The last straw for Jones was being caught on tape in an expletive-packed rant, directly attacking Republicans in the Senate who he said abused their majority position in the past to push legislation through. He admitted after the statements were released that the comments were "inappropriate" and "offensive."
"They do not reflect the experience I have had since joining the administration," Jones said in the statement.
Jones was also linked late last week to efforts suggesting a government role in the Sept. 11 terror attacks and to derogatory comments about Republicans.
When the White House press corps grilled White House press secretary Robert Gibbs about Jones on Friday, a reporter asked how the administration could reject "conspiracy theories" about his birth certificate while employing someone who previously charged the U.S. government with masterminding Sept. 11.

One czar down and 30+ to go! Hooray for Glen Beck and WND and FOX. Even Lou Dobbs show took a swipe at him. so a small hooray for “that” network, too.
Thia administration slams the race card on the table at every opportunity.
Just another “Wright”...
One interesting note is how many at the Democratic Underground are blaming Bush and Cheney for all of this, as if they are still in office. I don’t think half of those fellows at the DU have any common sense.
Now let’s hope who “vetted” this red czar is Glen Beck’s next target. Charles Krauthammer pushed this agenda on Thursday. It is the vetting that needs attention and those responsible need to answer for it.
This may be the most offensive thing he's said to date. Did he think that we were going to ignore all the things he said and did BEFORE joining the administration? That you get to reset your past when you get a new job?
Not in this world, buddy...
I'm afraid that taking down Jones will not change much in the long run. There are too many others with similar ideology remaining, but they haven't been as high-profile as Jones was. Not to mention, their traces are being erased as fast as we're trying to uncover their despicable deeds.
This sets the bar pretty high for subsequent resignations/dismissals. It took a LOT of indisputable evidence to oust him. Unfortunately, when it comes to Dems, a smaller number these types of incidents is acceptable. I'm thinking he'll be merely a sacrificial lamb, enabling similar characters to stay in the administration.
Press on!!
Anybody know from which outlet this fine reporter was? We probably should tell him/her that s/he was doing a good job and need to do more.
How will this affect the current unemployment stats ???
Its a good thing that he is going. Too bad he was just a little more stubborn. It would have made a great campaign ad.

"well.....bye!"
Man, they really are trying to hide this one..........midnight on a Saturday. Jeesh. Short of Christmas or New Year’s Eve there isn’t much of a time made for trying to underplay something.
I do believe that this just opens the gates for further examinations upon Obama’s Czars since this episode simply adds legitimacy to questioning the POTUS and his choosing of staff. Batty’s gonna have to get a bigger bus for all of the bodies he’s been shoving under it.
I’m sure he got a very healthy severance check...to keep his mouth shut...lest he end up sleeping with the fishes someday.
The green movement is solely political first last and always. The environment is just a good cover mostly because it can’t speak for itself.
Otherwise this country wouldn’t be importing and producing planned obsolescent junk that has to be recycled or land filled every couple of years.
The green movement is silent when it comes to resource demanding ‘junk’ that is for sale.
Have to love Dick Cheney’s rapier thrust. Calling this clown a “foul-mouthed lunatic” was a masster thrust.
