Inside the Beltway - Sarah Palin
The Washington Times ^ | 6th Sep | Jennifer Harper

Many Republicans have great affection for Sarah Palin for her style, grit, charisma, tenacity and cool shoes. But now we find that she also has a certain self-assured political demeanor - an intangible - that grants her power. The former Alaska governor is “head of the table” material, a quality shared by such heavyweights as Winston Churchill and Sen. Edward Kennedy, says Jeffrey Lord of The American Spectator.

“Wherever I sit is the head of the table,” Mr. Churchill once remarked to a hostess concerned about seating arrangements.

“A year after her emergence on the national scene, it is crystal clear that former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has this ‘head of the table’ gene in spades. She is, in a remarkable way, the real heir - make that heiress - to Senator Kennedy. She is charismatic, she has a decided point of view and she is a lightning rod for controversy,” Mr. Lord says.

“This is what really drives Sarah Palin’s critics nuts. She sits up there in Alaska with Todd and the kids, taps out a few words on her Facebook page, and presto! ObamaCare has a torpedo amidships! Without doubt this causes Palin’s rivals, just as it once did with Churchill’s and Teddy Kennedy’s, to fret and fume if not foam,” he adds.

Mr. Lord later concluded, “But like Ted Kennedy, Sarah Palin has a gift. An ability to make Americans focus on the issue of the day - and likewise the head of the table ability to lead the country in a specific direction. … She may be president of the United States.

Conservative Snobs Are Wrong About Palin
I know Maggie Thatcher. The two women have a lot in common.

to post 8 - You’re an obnoxious, little remora but at least you’ve submitted a post other than, ‘Uh, how does she feel ‘bout the bailouts?’.

If Romney is the next president he will implement his healthcare system after Obama’s fail. And most I know are not impressed with it.

Sarah was a winner from the first moment she entered the political arena.

Totally agreed. Her meteoric rise from small town PTA mom to Governor of Alaska, then Vice Presidential nominee has everything to do with what she's made of. The innate qualities she possesses can't be taught, and they're not inherited. She simply has them, and in spades.

It's very interesting to me that gifted people such as Sarah have seemingly appeared like magic, when our nation needed them most. I don't believe there's anything metaphysical about that happenstance. I believe it's more of a group reaction to the threat of the times. The very best among us are propelled to the fore when we are in moments of great peril.

I think she is awesome, but raw... and a little seasoning is required.

Read post number 9 of this thread and re-consider what you just said.

Bottom line, Sarah Palin is ten times the leader that Mitt Romney is, and has accomplished much, much more than he has in her short time in office.

Romney/Palin

How long after the ticket is announced do the "Why isn't she heading the ticket?" questions start?
