Van Jones, the onetime Marxist whose controversial statements about Republicans and 9/11 have made him a distracting lightning rod as Barack Obama's environmental czar in recent days, resigned tonight.
Now, the Sunday morning political talk shows (guest listings here) will have something really hot to talk about.
On Wednesday, as The Ticket reported here, Jones was forced to apologize when a video surfaced of his February remarks in Berkeley, of all places, using a reference to a lower anatomical orifice to describe Republicans.
The next day Jones again had to apologize for having his signature on a petition to then N.Y. Attorney General Eliot Spitzer seeking an investigation into the 9/11 attacks as possibly an inside job planned by then-Pres. George W. Bush to soften opposition to a war in Iraq.
On another video here Jones was seen mocking Bush physically and rhetorically as "a crackhead" for his addiction to petroleum.

Thanks! Hadn’t seen your thread when I posted my comment in the other one... Yeah, onetime, my eye. What a joke.
I fear for Glen Beck as Jones’ radical friends and even the White House will now make him a target because he lead the fight against Jones. Fox News and talk radio will also soon feel Obama’s wrath. Look for attempts to muzzle both as well as a White House orchestrated smear campaign.
I would suspect that Murdoch thinks some controversy will help increase Foxnews ratings./....
It sure does.
Nothing on CNN yet ... they have NO website coverage
after Saturday ends, apparently. Website says yesterday’s
date .. talk about laying down on the job.
Perhaps that’s why it was released after Saturday, hmmm?
Just about everyone else has it ... on google news search

NY Times FINALLY has it

In a victory for Republicans and the Obama administrations conservative critics, Van Jones resigned as the White Houses environmental jobs czar on Saturday.
Controversy over Mr. Joness past comments and affiliations has slowly escalated over several weeks, erupting on Friday with calls for his resignation.
Appointed as a special adviser for green jobs by President Obama, Mr. Jones did not go through the traditional vetting process for administration officials who must be confirmed by the Senate. So it was not until recently that some of Mr. Joness past actions received broad airing, including his derogatory statements about Republicans in February and his signature on a 2004 letter suggesting that former President George W. Bush might have knowingly allowed the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks to occur in order to use them as a pre-text to war.

This may open more examination of all of those CZARS.....gotta get interesting!
Van Jones Said He is Part of "Global Struggle Against U.S."
Doesn't sound like a onetime Marxist to me....
Exactly .. 36 more czars, Valerie Jarrett,
the whole crew .. especially BHO.
ping!
I must get some shuteye....nite....
Onetime marxist? Obviously they have taken their orwellian journalism lessons to heart.
thanks for the ping....
Every time these communist POS talk about green jobs I picture a huge Hamster wheel(actually thousands of them)with American workers running inside them to make sure the communist overlords have electricity. Exaggeration I know, but it is a caricature of what is going to happen if they get their way. Millions of people slaving to keep the “elite” in power and money.
The day Beck called out ACORN, he painted a huge target on his back for attacks from the White House. I only hope those attacks remain verbal and not physical. I have feared for his health ever since he called out ACORN.
I seriously doubt they would kill him, but the Chicago way is hardball and I would not be completely and totally shocked if Beck is taken out. The odds are super low but again, I would not be shocked. You would think it impossible due to his meteoric rise on Obama’s enemies list. But the way he would be taken out is with some 3rd party who the White House would say “some crazy supporter just got too upset”. It would be that easy.
Not that I think it would happen, but Beck is playing with fire. Now he has taken down Van Jones and Beck is just getting started on the FCC diversity Czar, the Science Czar, etc and Valerie Jarrett. I don’t put anything past this white house and the shadow government that runs it, notably the Chicago arm of that shadow government. I will continue to pray for Beck’s health.
And I am damn proud of him taking the fight directly to Obama the way he is.
Perhaps, if an investigation is undertaken to how much money he may have misused or embezzeled in his brief tenure as czar, we may be able to call him a criminal also.
Let me warn you...
Beck has an unusual style, but stick with it for a week or two and you will get it.
Maybe less now, he is bombastic, but he lays out truth.
For instant analysis and commentary on Van Jones’ resignation tonight, here it is: http://independentrage.blogspot.com/
now all those media outlets that didn’t “see this coming” have lost MORE credibility.
Mow it’s Charlie’s turn
Notice they couldn’t put it on latimes.com but but it on their “blog”.
Remember the propeller on Sen Inhofe's plane falling off back during Clinton?
Fortunately he was able to land it.
