The president and his media enablers are outraged, just outraged, that anyone would suggest the prospect of, let alone come up with a name for, government panels designed to ration care for the elderly and as the president said, pull the plug on grandma. Nothing lower, the left punditocracy fumed, than coming up with the death panel slur. Except that is precisely what Obama and his ilk want.
We need look no further than the worshipful David Brooks, Obamas political soul mate. He confesses, in a sort of Jack Nicholson code red moment that yes, darn it, he wants death panels. He chats with colleague Gail Collins in the New York Times blog: Im pro-death panel. We spend so much money on end-of-life care we have to have some way of talking about it.
Brooks cites a moving piece in Atlantic Monthly by David Godhill which details the death of Godhills vital 83-year-old father who succumbed to an infection. But isnt this the case against ObamaCare and Brooks desire to shut off the flow of care to our inconveniently expensive parents and grandparents? It would be interesting to ask Brooks how much money he thinks was wasted trying to keep Godhills father alive for five weeks in the struggle to beat off an ultimately fatal infection. Well, in Brooks death panel world, well nip much of that wasteful end-of-life care in the bud....

The senior crowd went for 0’b, they lionized him, then all the RATS talk about is ‘’offing’’ people,,,,,,,,go figure.
Brooks, Frum, Parker..all these and many others pose as “Conservative Columnists” when in reality their just plain Liberals. They gained their status as a guise and it’s classic propaganda straight out of the Communist Playbook. They know they have to influence through the media to hypnotize the masses, and a Liberal posing as Conservative Columnist is a perfect example of it. Brooks, Frum, Parker et.al are in their positions so they can attempt to “deconstruct” conservatism: divide and conquer by weakening or watering down the ideology. They’re all card carrying liberals in sheep’s clothing.
Through the elderlys growing up period, how much money did they pay out for insurance that they never used? That money was used to help others. These people wanting to take away the golden years are animals.
So Brooks is pro-death when it comes to people he deems useless and worthless. Tell me again why these people get so upset when they are compared to Nazis? If the jackboot fits, wear it, David Brooks.
Remember when the RATS used to accuse republicans of wanting to kill old people?
Accuse others of what you do.
Modus Operandi of the communist party of the USA.
Exactly - seniors PRE-PAID all their working lives for this end of life insurance - and still do!
Right now, the gov't takes almost a hundred dollars a month out of seniors social security for medicare - plus a deductible, plus 20% co-pay, plus it doesn't pay for office visits.
This year, and next year, there will be NO cost of living raise BUT there will be more taken out for medicare.
Seniors have prepaid for this insurance - how can it not be illegal to take it away?
The administration/congresscritters are setting the younger folk against the older...making the older folk appear as parasites.
Have they never stopped to consider that, if they are lucky, they will one day also be a senior citizen - and therefore subject to whatever they impose on us?
Oh, oh, wait! No, they exempt themselves for this Trojan Horse health care - THEY will retain their current gov't employee health insurance - the best in the land.
Make THEM have to also take this health insurance with the rest of us and see how fast it DOESN'T get passed.
This is why so many doofus talking-heads (and even a few folks here) are trying to claim the euphemism Death Panels is, to put it as Scarborough did, "... a bald-faced lie." No, it isn't -- a group of appointed persons (panel) will determine who shall receive treatment, medicine, procedure and who shall not, those who are denied die where they may well have survived had they received the care (death).
It isn't about "pulling the plug on grandma" -- it is more akin to not putting in the plug in the first place.
They should also have to pay into Social Security. If they did this, they would fix it. They would also stop the stealing of the SS funds for other purposes. So far the money they have taked from SS is in the Billions.

After discussing the situation of his grandmother and the costs associated with her final treatment, Obama said the following in discussing how to deal with "the chronically ill and those toward the end of their lives":
Well, I think that there is going to have to be a conversation that is guided by doctors, scientists, ethicists. And then there is going to have to be a very difficult democratic conversation that takes place. It is very difficult to imagine the country making those decisions just through the normal political channels. And that's part of why you have to have some independent group that can give you guidance. It's not determinative, but I think has to be able to give you some guidance. And that's part of what I suspect you'll see emerging out of the various health care conversations that are taking place on the Hill right now.
It's impossible to find a clearer prescription for the Death Panels that will be in any Obamacare law, no matter how they are configured. Please pass the linked article on to everyone you know. Obama is the Chief Ghoul.
The term “bio-ethicist” is almost universally mis-defined. In almost every case, the individuals so described are actually providing “bio-DEATH-assist” opinions and services.
The right has never had discussions or published anything that would indicate a desire to end care for old folks, to “kill them off” as it were.Leftists have evinced such desires in classrooms and magazines for many years.
Can you imagine what will ensue when the first breakdown “studies” come out, giving the numbers for the different “end-of-life alternatives” as they are applied by race? Oh, what fun.
Brooks, Frum, Parker..all these and many others are just not out-of-the Liberal closet...yet.
