We shall see. And Conservatives should be in control of every state GOP in America. The states where liberals are in control of the GOP are those with the weakest standings. It’s why the MA GOP is dead and why so many others are headed that way. Once we get control of all the state Republican parties, we should similarly take back the Democrat parties as well. There should be vigorous competition between Conservative ideas, not liberal RINO vs. Stalinist Democrats.
The voters knowingly voted in a state House of 114 DEMS and 37 REP. It was premeditated. Now they are being punished. They will have to fix their own mess.
Who exactly is going to come in here and organize a conservative takeover? “Unless the house is built by the Lord, in vain does the worker labor.”
For which was 91D-60R (and 19R-17D in the State Senate) as recently as 1996 (and even still 94D-57R going into the ‘04 elections). Republicans have held the Governorship that entire time, what will be almost 16 straight years, and shoulder the blame for gains or losses (and they’ve been virtually nothing but losses, except for ‘02). Grassroots is fine, but leadership comes from the top. In the state parties where the liberals hold control, Conservatives often don’t bother participating because they’re forced out, so many even stay out of organized party politics. That’s why I always said that despite how bad off MA is with their dead GOP, you’ve still got over a million or more people that could be organized and mobilized on behalf of Conservatism, it’s just a matter of getting things rolling.
Rell has never been interested in the Republican party ... so there is no reason to believe she is dismayed over the situation. She is not a Republican.
The process is open. If the conservatives want to get involved in the party and put people on the state central committee, nobody is stopping them.
The memo from the superintendent of schools in my small CT town echoes his sentiments... each teacher in all the schools will decide how to handle the speech on Sept. 8... WHAT!
Rell is listed as a candidate? where is this list? I’d like to see it ....
Thank God school doesn’t start until Wednesday here so my daughter doesn’t have to be subject to this propganda exercise. It’s becoming 1932 Germany all over again. Next it will be Obama Youth groups.
Simmons is still the unfortunate front runner for the Senate nomination isn’t he?
Rell appears to be even worse than Arnold SwawrteKennedy which is saying a lot. And she makes Crist look like Carrol Campbell.
I hope she loses to the regular democrat.
I’m sure she’d sign the rats redistricting plan anyway.

If Rell retires, who will run for governor for the GOP?
Good to hear Daly is pro-life. His website was mute on the issue, which I guess is just as well in the socially liberal CT-02; if asked, he should say that he is pro-life and explain why, but there is no need for him to center his campaign around the issue.
As I said, Daly’s platform sounded fine, but I think it’s a bit of a jump for him to run for Congress. Do you know who I would like to see run in the CT-02? The RINO Simmons. It’s a really tough district for us (much harder to win than the CT-04 or CT-05), and Simmons could get it back (and vote with us half the time) in a good environment.
As for the governorship, I can’t believe that McKinney would be any better than Rell. How are Fedele and Cafero on the issues?
