The vendors stand for up to 12 hours a day in the elements. They have no water, food or bathroom facilities, relieving themselves in nearby shops where they can, they said.

In Austin, we have panhandlers at major intersections who stand in 100-degree heat for that long with nothing to sell other than a sad story yet idiots still stop and give them money. At least the illegals are offering a product.

I also don't understand this idea of being "exploited" by coyotes. I doubt even one of them was kidnapped into crossing the border. They knew they were working illegally and they still agreed to be part of it.

I'm having trouble working up sympathy here.
