Solemn, ominous, devastating. Those are words I’d use to describe the black-and-white YouTube advertisement now surfacing about Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. The ad is a prelude to an all-out war against Reid that attempts to tie the Senate powerhouse to failing to use his political clout to save Nevada from feeling the devastating blows of the recession.
It’s titled, “Who’s looking out for Nevada?”

For my money, this is another sign state Sen. Mark Amodei is about to come out of the shadows and declare his candidacy as a challenger to Reid. Although attorney Danny Tarkanian has already declared, and departing state GOP chairwoman Sue Lowden is seriously considering running, Amodei has superior credentials and ought to send Team Reid into Battle Stations mode.
Someone is making a major announcement on Sept. 9. Or, 9-9-09, as the ad darkly puts it.

I wonder what Nevadans would think of seeing a Reid draft rider to the US Senate version of Cap and Trade, that would radically increase the tax on gambling winnings, the money used to pressure casinos to be far more “green”, by slashing their energy use.
Kind of a “Get me a stick to beat you with” rider.

I do not know anything about Sen. Mark Amodei, but Hugh Hewitt persuaded me I should send a small contribution to Danny Tarkanian (”small” is pretty well my limit). I just want to see Reid defeated by someone who loves America (as opposed to those who “love” what America could be if Americans turn to Marxism).

Danny Tarkanian is doing a Meet & Greet in Carson City on Sunday. My husband and I are going to go and see what this guy has to offer. If we like him, we are going to host another Meet & Greet out “our way”...

Didn’t like it, and if this is really supposed to be an anti-Reid ad, they could have done a much better job and referred people to a legit website. You can bet somebody will claim that the “gunshot” sound is a threat to harm poor old Harry. The starkness of it isn’t a bad idea, but it could have been more effective, IMO.

I hate this ad. It implied that a good senator is one who bring home the pork.
This is how we got into this mess. Every elected official only interested in using Federal dollars to buy votes back home.
If he’s replaced with someone who has that as his mandate, we’re no better off in the long run.
