His refusal to bow to political correctness has already won Peter Davies plenty of plaudits.
But the new mayor of Doncaster, who has been praised for his outspoken approach, has received less support for his latest suggestion that we could all learn something about family values - from the Taliban.
Mr Davies claimed that under the Taliban, Afghanistan had an 'ordered system of family life'.
He said: 'The one thing that can be said about the Taliban is that they do have an ordered society of some sort and that they don't have hundreds of cases of children under threat of abuse from violent parents as we do in Doncaster.'
Mr Davies expressed his latest controversial opinion just before Doncaster's children's

That is only because that the stoning to death of adulterers, imprisonment of young girls, and honor killing has thinned the number of potential abuse victims. Then when you factor in the fact that the Koran encourages the beating of women and children thereby redefining what "abuse" means you have an even lower number of "abused" children.
Muslims need a modern-day Reformation or modern-day Martin Luther to change the face of their religion into something that civilized people can belong to. They definitely need a different religion other than what is being exposed by the Taliban!
