Obama Speech to Hit on Familiar Themes (Preview of Address To Congress)

Obama Speech to Hit on Familiar Themes By David M. Drucker Roll Call Staff Sept. 3, 2009, 4:10 p.m.

When President Barack Obama addresses a joint session of Congress on Wednesday, he will try to resuscitate a health care reform effort that’s been badly bruised and battered over the August recess.

But according to talking points being circulated in the Senate by the White House in advance of Obama’s prime-time speech, at least some of the president’s message will remain the same: Obama will frame the health care debate as one that pits those who want to improve the system against those who support the status quo.

“The speech will make clear what health insurance reform means,” reads one of the memo’s bullet points.

Another bullet point reads: “After this speech, opponents of health reform will either need to propose their own plan, or explain why they think it’s best to do nothing while premiums crush American families and thousands lose their coverage everyday.”

Obama is expected to use the speech to more specifically define his principles for reform. However, it remains unclear if he will throw down the gauntlet on some of the more contentious issues that have divided the Congress, including whether any overhaul should include a public insurance option to compete with private insurers.

The talking points suggest that Obama will tout the progress the House and Senate have made on the issue so far, despite the fact that neither chamber has passed a measure amid intra and interparty objections. And the president might also look to downplay the significance of recent town hall meetings across the country in which some Members encountered angry crowds and protests.

“It is important to recognize how far we have come,” reads one of the memo’s bullet points. “Four out of Five House and Senate committees have marked up bills. There is basically 80 percent agreement among those bills and all of them are in line with the principles laid out by the president at the beginning of this debate.”

“We are entering a new phase in the debate, Congress is coming back from recess,” says the next bullet point. “While cable news may have replayed over and over a few the protests that took place over August, Members of Congress also heard from Americans who are struggling with high costs and the insecurity of knowing they might lose their coverage. Thousands of conversations have taken place at kitchen tables around the country. It is pretty clear here in Washington that inaction is not an option.”

I wonder what his latest rationale for overhaul of the health industry will be. Health care for the uninsured? Health insurance reform? Health insurance for illegals? The so-called moral issue of attempting to “partner with” God in matters of life and death? He’s been all over the block on WHY he wants to do this, when the real reason is a simple one: it’s a total power grab.

“Will he have the Roman Columns brought back for effect?”

That, or he’ll have some ethnic kids rolled out in wheelchairs. Because, we must be racist if we won’t chip in to provide health care to the poor waifs.

...Members of Congress also heard from Americans who are struggling with high costs and the insecurity of knowing they might lose their coverage.

"...due to the actions of my Democrat buddies and me that helped to tank the economy. Senator Dodd, Representative Frank, please stand and be recognized. I'll also be standing here for the $1.3 trillion deficit I demanded we create. You're welcome."

Pretty cute the same adage applies here ,those who define the argument win the argument ,the same thing happened at the town Hall meeting in Bridgeport ct. Last Night ,Congressman Jim Himes Ct. Democrat framed the debate the same way they must have had the fax go out already.
This is supposed to be a debate but there is only one issue being put forward according to Democrats a Government option or Nothing or according to them the “Status quo”.
Well I dont know anyone who is for the so called Status Quo , I want reform too, reform that LOWERS THE COST not a Government take over of everything I do in My life which is what a Government option will do.
There are no Free Market Ideas being Publicized in this debate and the Democrats then Claim there are no Other ides ,they are as Usual Lying. So if the Democrats dont want to listen to Free Market Reforms and the Only choice they are Offering since they are in The Majority, is Government Controlled Health Care By DR.Death Ezekiel Emmanuel then I say NO,and I am Coming to March In Washington to Send In my Own Small way that Message.

NOTHING Obamessiah can threaten us with, say or do will stop Americans from protesting his and his democRAT lapdogs desire to bring Animal Farm to America. Don't believe me? Then check out this Town Hall Video:

Video Regarding Exeter, NH Town Hall Meeting... Speaking From the Heart Against Obamacare.

Here is a Youtube video of the event of August 31 where Manchester Mayor Frank Guinta spoke at an Exeter, NH town hall meeting in Exeter that you may not have seen and may want to view and forward to others involved in the battle against Obama Death care entitled:

...constituent speaks from the heart (about Obamacare)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dRzlLa48Wps

I spoke shortly after the retired police man from NYC who was ejected the day before by Carol Shea Porter. There were paid activist (possibly union) thugs outside the hall dressed in SCREAM masks and gowns screaming "Stop Republican Scare Tactics". Needless to say, I let them, congress and Obama have it with both barrels.
