America is a free country, my father told me in the ‘50s. In Russia, my grandparents’ homeland, people were arrested for speaking against the government. In America, anyone could stand on a street corner and shout, “Down with the president.”
We happened to live on a corner. So I stood out by the street sign and the fire hydrant and yelled, “Down with President Eisenhower!”
It was the suburbs. No pedestrians. I tried again when a car went by. “Down with President Eisenhower. Down with the government!” No reaction.
I yelled louder for the next car: “Up with Khruschev! Communism is good! America is bad!” Nothing.
President Obama’s Sept. 8 start-of-school speech to students will be shown in schools, the White House hopes. (The speech will be broadcast on www.WhiteHouse.gov and C-SPAN.) The president “will challenge students to work hard, set education goals, and take responsibility for their learning,” says the Education Department.
Ho hum, I’d say....

Im sure part of the speech about pledging allegiance to the one is perfectly acceptable.
There was a booklet to ask the students to write how they would “Help the President”. But I think that has been retracted.
If I were prepping my class for this, I would ask the students to come up with five campaign promises Obama has already broken since becoming President.
In the speech Obama tells kids in the context of opposing Obama’s plans in particular health care, “Your Republic is Under Attack.”
What he’s telling a bunch of these young people is that the country is under attack by their own parents if they are opposed to Obama’s goals.
It is brainwashing, fully supported by the teachers, teachers unions, and the MSM.
Anytime you see stuff like this, just say “What would the reaction be if Bush did this?” If there’s no way Bush could get away with something like this, you know liberal bias is at work in various affected groups and the MSM.
Will he first lead all the kids in the Pledge of Allegiance?

I'd like to see HIS GRADES IN SCHOOL.
I'd like to see PROOF HE graduated from college.
I'd like to see HIS thesis that he wrote in school.
I'd like to see HIS birth certificate.
I'd like to see HIS medical records.
Obama is EVIL and my daughter will not support someone so EVIL and CONNIVING. He's trying to make friends with the kiddies and have THEM "help him". No way! He can rot in hell before that happens in this house.
Or even naming reasons Obama is a traitor and committing Treason...
There’s nothing really sinister about him giving a speech. It’s what the presidential flunkies are doing along with it that is creepy. The education master has alerted the NEA and all the government schools to 1) carry the speech; 2) make the kids discuss it before and after (so far no problem);3) write essays answering questions like “what does the president say I should do; what can I do; How can I help the president,” and others of the sort. Could be harmless, depending on the content of the speech. If it veers off into green save the planet BS, health care BS, and other obama agenda garbage, then it’s out of bounds. And, of course, the fairness doctrine will not be observed in that no opposition point of view will be tolerated.
This guy is not Barack Obama. He is David Axelrod, Rahm Emanuel, Ezekiel the Death Doctor Emanuel and his other string pullers. That’s what’s so creepy about anything - anything- he does.

There are reasons other official pledges taken are to the Constitution, not men.

May of these high school stodents will vote in 2012.Many will seek summmer or full time jobs with Acorn and the new "Freedom Corps " of Obama youth. This is "linkage" social control.

Soon students will turn on their parents for Obama.Thats the goal.
