Rasmussen: Americans despise Democrat Congress
Examiner ^ | 02 September 2009 | Robert Moon

Rasmussen continues to release some of the most jaw-dropping numbers ever on this utterly hated Democrat Congress.

America is a right-of-center country. You can see this in polling results such as that 70% of Americans want lower taxes and less government. You can also see it with even states like California rejecting Democrat ideas on everything from handouts for for illegal immigrants, to gay marriage, to tax hikes and big government.

As such, this disturbingly un-American, Constitution-trampling leftist agenda being forced down the country's throat is provoking an incensed backlash from Mainstream America...

Most Americans openly reject what Congress is trying to do to health care. 57% would like to see the entire Congress immediately replaced. Only the Democrat base thinks this country is headed in the right direction. Only 29% (less than the Democrat base) think Congress has a clue on the economy. 68% think Democrats are lying through their teeth about ObamaCare being deficit neutral. And my personal favorite... 42% say people randomly selected from the phone book would still be better than this Congress. These are shockingly extreme numbers. This Democrat Congress is absolutely despised by regular Americans. The only question now is whether or not they will figure this out before Election 2010.

As it stands, they still seem obliviously bent on bankrupting America to reward failure and punish success.

I don’t think that “despise” is nearly a strong enough word to describe how I think about not only congress, but the ENTIRE federal government of the usa.

The Second American Revolution won’t be televised: The networks news departments are far too partisan to even consider it!

Yes, for everyone else. However, when push comes to shove, most Americans seem to have no problem with continuing their favorite government program.

How else does one explain the never ending growth of government?

They've written the stimulus to kick in just in time for the 2010 elections. Fear not, the idiotic populace will fall in line in due time (unfortunately).

THE STATES MUST REEL IN FEDERAL POWER BY LIMITING THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO MINISTERIAL TASKS. NO LEGISLATIVE OR EXECUTIVE POWER...

We now have good evidence that at least 32% of the population are idiots.

Ummm... not quite. The Second Revolution will not be televised because all of the cable and TV stations will be in ashes... THEY ARE THE PROBLEM AND THEY WILL BE THE VICTIMS OF THEIR OWN FAILURE TO ACT AS THE FOURTH ESTATE...

The press reports the votes, and they can switch the names!

During the First Revolution, the Tories homes were routinely burned to the ground by patriotic citizens who could no longer stand listening to them...

I’m actually fairly optimistic (wrt 2010) that even fairly liberal Dems can’t help but be alarmed at the “shove it down their throats” attitude of this Congress. I abandon any hope of influencing “very liberal” and “flaming moonbat Black Panther” types, but that’s OK. Anyone with functioning neurons can’t help but be alarmed at Congress.

If any of these folks long for the good ol’ days when Clinton was in office, let’s hope they realize that the good times were when Congress was hopelessly deadlocked. Of course, if they use their small numbers of functioning neurons for that thought, then maybe they won’t be available for use in the present. Sigh, it’s such a quandary. I just hope these idiots don’t irrevocably destroy the country in this 2-year window. They surely are trying their damndest.

It has to become dangerous to be a liberal...

But in each state and district, people will still vote to the left because they like ‘their’ representative or senator.

Until people start to look at their own reps with the curled lip of contempt, this fun ride will continue.

The core problem: lack of appealing, honest, uncrazed conservatives. The core of that problem: we have turned from God.

Lorianne,

It is so clear and it has been clear for a long time. Things are coming to a head. The GOP never lost because they were too right wing. It was because they gave people a non choice. Now Obama and the most liberal congress ever to occupy the halls of government is providing a stark contrast.

We are tired of having stuff forced on us. Tired of having money sucked out of our paychecks before we even get them. We are tired of all the spending and all the double talk. We are tired of the most expensive ineffective education system in the world. We are tired of being chastised in our values by the immoral, the irresponsible, and sexually deviant. We are tired of being forced to pay for the least productive most worthless among us while they heap praise on little kings who cast dispersions on those who pay the taxes to employ them.

The list of grievances of the sovereign citizen is long and we have had enough.
