The 5 key Strategy Questions the White House is Considering on Health Care
ABC ^ | September 02, 2009 | George Stephanopoulos

Posted on 09/02/2009 6:08:49 PM PDT by Lorianne

Here are the five key sets of questions they have to confront, both in the Roosevelt Room and in their consultations with Congress:

1 – What is “death with dignity” for the public option? Is it better for the president to sacrifice it himself? Or convince Democratic leaders behind closed doors to come to him? Some will argue for taking the public option issue to the floor, passing it through the House and sacrificing it in conference - but once you’ve gone that far, it may be impossible for House Democrats to back down. So, giving it up on the front end in some fashion is likely the preferred option.

2 – How do you get the price tag down, likely down to about $700 billion? At that cost the most unpopular tax increases will not be necessary. And moderates in both the House and the Senate have already signaled that they can live with it at that level. Which leads to question 3…

3 – Can you still make a convincing case that the country is on a path to universal coverage? What mix of phase-ins and triggers are necessary to make that case?

4 – Can these kinds of compromises attract any Republican votes beyond Olympia Snowe? If not, can they survive the procedural and political hurdles of the reconciliation process?

5 – And finally, how do you communicate all of this to the public? An address to the joint session of Congress is the leading option, either next week or the week after. The president is calling Congressional leaders today to discuss.

Nothing that you mentioned should have anything to do with the government - not constitutional! Let them get back to their powers under the Constitution and the rest will eventually take care of itself.

So typical of the Leftist mentality. Just approach everything as though it’s legitimately a concern of theirs when in fact it isn’t any of their business at all.

In the case of the Democrats, the Leftist Democrats, the Socialist Democrats actually everything they are proposing as legislation has nothing to do with anything other than handing them control over our lives. It’s what they are after.

Our healthcare is our business.

This is PAP for the consumption of the masses.

The #1 question is how the Obama administration can use the IRS, breaching IRS privacy laws, to get that data to the Insurers ( pulic or private), so that fees can be calculated on a sliding scale based on income, not on medical services rendered. Also the Dems hope the IRS data or the IRS can be used to collect unpaid medical bills. Thats the number 1 questionm how to slip the IRS provision by the public, and get it into the bill without the public knowing it. HR 3200 s 431: SEC. 431. DISCLOSURES TO CARRY OUT HEALTH INSURANCE EXCHANGE SUBSIDIES. ‘‘(A) IN GENERAL.—The Secretary, upon written request from the Health Choices Commissioner or the head of a State-based health insurance exchange approved for operation under section 208 of the America’s Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009, shall disclose to officers and employees of the Health Choices Administration or such State-based health insurance exchange, as the case may be, return information of any taxpayer whose income is relevant in determining any affordability credit described in subtitle C of title II of the America’s Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009. Such return information shall be limited to— ‘‘(i) taxpayer identity information with respect to such taxpayer, ‘‘(ii) the filing status of such taxpayer, ‘‘(iii) the modified adjusted gross income of such taxpayer (as defined in section 59B(e)(5)), ‘‘(iv) the number of dependents of the taxpayer, ‘‘(v) such other information as is prescribed by the Secretary by regulation as might indicate whether the taxpayer is eligible for such affordability credits (and the amount thereof), and ‘‘(vi) the taxable year with respect to which the preceding information relates or, if applicable, the fact that such information is not available. ******************************************* THATS THE DEMS #1 Question on strategy. How to get at the money and assets of ordinary Americans who happen to get sick or injured.

Sorry Deagle, my attitude toward this debacle of massive proportions of a health care "change" made me do it.

When did he ever stop shilling? When did Paul Begala, James Carville, Chris Matthews, etc. ever stop shilling for the Democrats? Why isn’t this so obvious that the above-mentioned hacks are run off of television?

The second any health care bill is passed, two things will start. One, the politicians along with the MSM will start talking about the “Universal Right to Health Care.” The second is the Media flooding us with sob stories about the inequity of the “rich” having Cadillac health care and poor children dying needlessly because of bad insurance coverage. Everyone must get the exact same thing if it is a right, don't they. Of course we can't afford this without rationing care in some “fair” manner. And there we go to NHS and a continuing downhill spiral.

I wonder when the last time George was out of the Beltway? Just wondering because I don’t think just that is going to change the public’s mind. We don’t want the Government involoved in our healthcare. We were worried about the uninsured but not at the expense of our own healthcare! Not no but H*LL NO!

Never have stopped and won’t. Reason I refuse to watch any of their shows along with a lot of others. The obvious shilling has been going on from Day One and they are still at it. Their lies to protect Obama in the media is beyond pale — thought they kneepadded for Clinton but nothing like what we are seeing.

Here is a question

Would it be a requirement to get the government run healthcare to show our birth certificates, and are all government officials also required to show their birth certificates ? and would Obama be required to show his birth certificate if he decided to lead with example and get the government run healthcare plan himself ?

Using the IRS data means that the tax dodgers like Dashle, Rangel, etc will not be doing their fair share helping those behind them.
