LANCASTER, Pa. - A Pennsylvania man said he robbed a bank in 2007 to go to jail and get away from his overbearing wife. At a sentencing hearing Monday, 39-year-old Anthony Miller said he robbed a bank in Ephrata because he wanted to leave his then-wife but she had threatened to commit suicide if he did. Defense attorney Robert Beyer said Miller approached tellers with a BB gun, asked for money and told them to call the police. He said Miller even asked for updates on their efforts to reach authorities. Miller pleaded guilty in June. Lancaster County Judge Louis Farina sentenced him to three to six years in prison on Monday. Beyer said the couple divorced within the last year.

If he’d shot her when he first wanted to, he’d have been out by now.

Instead of driving to the local attorney’s office, he drives to a bank and botches a robbery, then blames his wife? Sounds like his vault is empty.

I did a lot of things to get rid of my ex-wife, including seeing a girlfriend ride off into the sunset in a huff because I volunteered to drive the U-Haul with my estranged wife's belongings to her new place three hundred miles away (she didn't understand how cathartic it was - knowing she was in New Jersey and I was in Virginia was like loosening my belt after a Thanksgiving dinner). But robbing a bank was
NOT in my manifesto for such a relatively simple task. LOL
