Obama to Address Congress About Health Care
The Washington Post ^ | Wednesday, September 2, 2009; 4:07 PM | Anne E. Kornblut

President Obama will address a joint session of Congress next Wednesday about the nation's health-care system, Democratic officials said Wednesday.

Under pressure to seize the initiative on the biggest legislative proposal of his young administration, Obama is expected to add more detail to his vision for health-care reform when he speaks to lawmakers upon their return from an August recess.

It is less likely that Obama will release his own detailed proposal, but he will comment more specifically on ideas that have already been offered by others, one administration policy expert said.

"He's drawing on what's already out there," said the official, who was not authorized to speak to reporters.

Congressional sources said President Obama called Democratic leaders Wednesday morning, before he left the White House for Camp David.

Aides to lawmakers said that it was still unclear what Obama plans to say next week.

All right folks! Place your bets! What is your prediction that Obama will say next week?

As for me... I think it'll just be more of the same. I doubt Obama has actually decided to do any work and try to write up his own bill or anything. I may be wrong, but that's my prediction!

What's yours?

He will say it is up to you to save my presidency or something to that order. The staws he is grasping are slipping away, I believe the country is waking up (those that matter).

Any of the current proposals will result in the ranks of doctors being reduced to those like Conrad Murray. Only someone like Michael Jackson’s doctor could stand to continue practicing.

Apparently the American Medical Association has weighed in on the president's new health care package....

The Allergists voted to scratch it, but the Dermatologists advised not to make any rash moves.

The Gastroenterologists had sort of a gut feeling about it, but the Neurologists thought the Administration had a lot of nerve.

The Obstetricians felt they were all laboring under a misconception. Ophthalmologists considered the idea shortsighted.

Pathologists yelled, "Over my dead body!" while the Pediatricians said, 'Oh, Grow up!'

The Psychiatrists thought the whole idea was madness, while the Radiologists could see right through it.

Surgeons decided to wash their hands of the whole thing.

The Internists thought it was a bitter pill to swallow, and the Plastic Surgeons said, "This puts a whole new face on the matter."

The Podiatrists thought it was a step forward, but the Urologists were pissed off at the whole idea.

The Anesthesiologists thought the whole idea was a gas, and the Cardiologists didn't have the heart to say no.

In the end, the Proctologists won out, leaving the entire decision up to the assholes in Washington .

Yes. I am sick of listening to total psychobabble about health insurance by those who have no idea what they are talking about. This whole thing is insane. I was in the insurance biz for 30 years underwiting large group health plans. NONE of what you hear has any sense to it. This is not about insurance or health care it is about Socialism and Government totalitarianism. Take that to the bank.

"Trust is not a renewable resource."

Agreed. And the 0ne has lost trust amongst many more than he knows--and he will not get it back. His overreaching in direct contradiction of his campaign has bit him on his skinny butt. Fool me once....

Wow! Look what the President is going to do to resolve differences over health care reform... he’s going to give a “major” speech.

Only someone like Michael Jackson’s doctor could stand to continue practicing.

And then only if he was bribed. Jackson was paying him a lot to be his sedative pusher.

It’s obvious Obama’s whole campaign was nothing but shuck and jive, lies from start to finish, anything to get elected, so he could do anything he wanted TO US.

Once the trust has broken ... no bottom in sight.

I honestly believe that if that skinny little Nancy-boy resigned tomorrow and no one succeeded him, this country would literally run just fine w/o a president for the next 3 years.

This all looks like that “fishy information” that’s been talked about. I think we need to report it to the White House snitch site.

With Obama it’s always the same question: Was he lying then or is he lying now?
It’s also always the same answer... yes to both.

He will read something that someone else wrote and tell us how important it is for us, and that it’s an emergency we to get it done “right now”. There will be a carrot for each side and promises of milk and honey.

Were it not for Bush, all would be right with the world and he wouldn’t be forced to do this, blah, blah, blah. Love me, love me, love me, I love you..

The End

I guess Obama didn't get the memo that he was "overexposed" and that was one of the reasons his poll numbers were plummeting faster than a Ted Kennedy driven Oldsmobile.

Oh well.

If obama did write up his own bill, wouldn't that be the first one he's ever written? I think I remember reading some lib say his name was on a shared bill once upon a time but I don't even know it that was true or not.

Personally I think he's too lazy. All he seems to be capable of doing, is flying all over the world, vacationing, and looking for the next chance to mug for the camera.
