Levi Johnston, not content with just a GQ spread, heads to Condé Nast sibling Vanity Fair to offer a first person account: "Me and Mrs. Palin." The magazine posted a couple excerpts early this morning, including Johnston's account of how Palin considered keeping Bristol's pregnancy a secret.
Sarah told me she had a great idea: we would keep it a secret nobody would know that Bristol was pregnant. She told me that once Bristol had the baby she and Todd would adopt him. That way, she said, Bristol and I didnt have to worry about anything. Sarah kept mentioning this plan. She was nagging she wouldnt give up. She would say, So, are you gonna let me adopt him? We both kept telling her we were definitely not going to let her adopt the baby. I think Sarah wanted to make Bristol look good, and she didnt want people to know that her 17-year-old daughter was going to have a kid.
The full piece will be in the October issue. So for now, Vanity Fair's only offering a couple excerpts and a behind-the-scenes video of the Johnston photo shoot, which includes a discussion of whether he'd pose for Playgirl. Seriously.

People with hundreds of pounds of wild game and fish in their freezers that they harvest and gut themselves, are always famous for their cooking.
Mothers that don’t cook that become Governor do not immediatly transfer the state supplied Governor’s private chef over to work at the Lounge of the State Legislature to save taxpayer money and do her own cooking.
Cindy Sheehan’s replacement. He’ll last a short while and be as irrelevant and pathetic as she is now in Martha’s Vineyard.
Is the FR website emitting some sort of amnesia rays?
Folks, go back and read the threads when the pregnancy story first broke. Praise, praise, and overwhelmingly nothing but praise for Levi (great guy, hunk, model behavior, stand-up guy, etc.) and Bristol. Any criticism was *viciously* attacked.
Well, at least the “vicious” part hasn’t changed....just the direction.
Good rebuttal to the lies: http://www.conservatives4palin.com/2009/09/levi-liar.html
Oh, settle down. Bristol was moved to a new high school, for whatever reason, early on. And Palin didn’t tell anyone about her pregnancy until quite late.
I said I’m guessing the kid is lying and it is just another of the false stories put out there. But you can see where the Andrew Sullivans of the world will attempt to connect the dots. Doesn’t hurt to look at the feasibility of the fib and dismiss it. Might have more credibility than not looking at the claim at all.
I don’t think it’ll do any long-term damage at all, though there’ll be a little tizzy of leftist gossip online—perhaps in the short term, perhaps to pop up here or there.
Bristol’s pregnancy was no secret nor was Palin’s.
Palin’s was nationally known early in her 7th month. I don’t know when local people knew.
Bristol Palin’s pregnancy was an open secret back home
