A Westport lawmaker who voted to hike the state sales and alcohol taxes was spotted brazenly piling booze in his car - adorned with his State House license plate - in the parking lot of a tax-free New Hampshire liquor store, the Herald has learned.

Michael J. Rodrigues’ blue Ford Crown Victoria, emblazoned with his “House 29” Massachusetts license plate, was parked outside a Granite State liquor store on Interstate-95 South over the weekend, according to a witness who provided pictures to the Herald.

Once again, the idiocy of the MA voters and the hypocrisy of the leftist elected officials shines a bright light on the Bay state.

Other than getting caught, you have to admire the guy’s plan. Vote to raise taxes to satisfy his brain dead liberal base, and then hop across the border to exempt yourself. Both actions benefit the pol in question economically.

He also blamed the brouhaha on “Republican demagoguery.”

He appears to be confusing "leftist hypocrisy" with "republican demagoguery". iT'S An easy mistake to make. Especially if you're drunk.

Although pointless, did anyone mention he’s a DEMOCRAT!

Rodrigues rhymes with “dumb as bricks”. (Pronounced “Rodericks”).

Bad enough the leftist hypocrisy, but I have never understood why government workers other than actual working outside types are given cars. And with unlimited usage apparently.

It was just his little way of paying tribute to the memory of Ted Kennedy.

Tip of the iceburg.

In these cases where our beloved politicians love to impose taxes on our commodities we ought to establish citizen watchdog panels who are able to view the books, watching every penny, publishing the results far and wide. Then prosecute independently where fraud and abuse take place. We need to get on these tax happy bastards like pit bulls on a naked baby.

he is one of the pinnacles of MA politics
look he has a D next to his name that is all he needs he could be a serial killer as long as that D exists next to his name on the ballot he is immune to criticism.

If the honorable Democrat legislator Michael J. Rodrigues had been “caught” by the Massachusetts State Police rather than an honest citizen with a cellcam, he’d probably be off the hook by now.

President Kennedy did the same with Cuban cigars before the embargo.

And it’s a good thing he pointed it out.

Because it took more than halfway through the article to find out that he’s a DemocRAT. He outed himself first.

This country is going to the dogs.

Rodrigues rhymes with “dumb as bricks”. (Pronounced “Rodericks”).

Looks like Les Nessman's pronunciation should hold here:
Rod-ra-gweez.

Only Les was talking about Chi-Chi.

As the country goes, so goes the leftist state of MA. Things are getting worse here since Barry was elected. These dolts are running wild and getting away with it.

I must admit that any time I have to purchase something more than a few hundred dollars I pick it up on one of my regular trips to NH. And I dont pay use tax on it.

Confession is good for the soul.

Can I get an AMEN!

The witness, who requested anonymity, claimed he approached Rodrigues, noted his State House plate, and asked if he was on personal or official business. Rodrigues, who was loading booze into his car, snapped “mind your own business,” the witness said.

Nice
