The Reno Gazette-Journal has a sit-down with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), who addresses the Ted Kennedy question in, um, an interesting way.
Q: How will U.S. Sen. (Edward) Kennedy's death affect things?
A: I think it's going to help us. He hasn't been around for some time. We're going to have a new chairman of that committee, it'll be, I don't know for sure, but I think Sen. (Chris) Dodd, (D-Conn.). He has a right to take it. Either him or (U.S. Sen. Tom) Harkin, (D-Iowa), whichever one wants it can have it. I think he (Kennedy) will be a help. He's an inspiration for us. That was the issue of his life and he didn't get it done.
Nothing in here is particularly new Kennedy will help the cause, Dodd gets to carry the banner, Kennedy's work remains undone. But the straight-shooting Reid does have a gift for saying non-controversial things in the most controversial way possible.

I wonder if Reid wished it just happened sooner. Why does politics trump everything with these people.

I guess it would really be great for Reid if a whole bunch more Democrats die as well?
Unusual point IMO.

The guy’s supposed friend dies and Reid looks for the benefit in it - how does it help him and his party. Its sick really.
To: teddyballgame
Maybe Reid can drag ole Teddy around the Senate ala “Weekend At Bernie’s”??

Reid musing, “now when Byrd finally kicks, that’ll really help us....”

AS THE KENNEDY TURNS - Last week Teddy was a living testament to medicine.....this week...Teddy is contributing because he is dead....next week....Teddy will tell Reid in a dream that the world will end if Obamacare does not get passed....
These people will spin poo into potpourri if it suits them....LOL!

I wonder if Reid wished it just happened sooner. I wished it had happened in 1969.

I’m sure Joe Biden’s death would help them even more.
Actually, Harry, if you think Kennedy’s death is helpful to your political agenda, why not try this? Why don’t you and all the other buffoons with a D after their name lock yourselves in a room, start spouting your usual BS, and gas each other to death? If Kennedy’s passing is so helpful to your cause, I’m sure a self-asphyxiation of the entire party would REALLY get things moving.
Actually, while you’re at it, you could invite the Republican bunch as well. The vast majority are so d*** useless we’d probably be better off just replacing the entire Congress.

In that case Reid, why don’t you commit suicide and lock the health care bill in?

It is easy, he is now a DEAD testament to medicine. And under government healthcare he would have been dead a lot sooner.

"wed probably be better off just replacing the entire Congress." Actually, we would be better off with NO CONGRESS at all.
