When Nathaniel Jeanson graduated from high school, he hadn't yet thought about becoming a doctor and researcher in one of the most cutting edge and controversial fields in medicine today: stem cells.
"I knew that I didn't like insects or blood, but I liked science," he said in a recent phone interview.
Jeanson attended the University of Wisconsin-Parkside and studied molecular biology, though he admitted that he didn't know exactly what it was when he started. But it involved chemistry and was related to disease research, both fields that interested him, and he graduated with his bachelor's degree in 2003.
He went straight to Harvard Medical School, which he said "sounded like it would be useful for credentials and evangelism." He developed an interest in cancer research while there and worked in the stem cell laboratory. "But strictly with adult stem cells," he emphasized. Under the supervision of a noted hematologist, Jeanson focused on stem cells derived from blood cells, which is ironic, he said, since he doesn't like blood. Jeanson received his Ph.D. earlier this year and continued his research at Harvard, specifically on the role of Vitamin D in regulating blood stem cells.
Stem cell research has been a hot button issue...

Except for the truth of this, which is here:

PS No wonder evo-atheist "science" groups desperately trying to get unsuspecting high school students to divulge information about their religious beliefs in questionnaires mailed to public and private schools across the country!

Typical evo hogwash. For ICR’s response, see the following:

Thanks for the ping!
Referring to PZ Myers? C'mon dude, this has to be your least. credible. post. ever.
There are some people on either side of the origins debate that should not be cited by people interested in truth, decency, and advancing the debate. P.Z. Myers is an obvious example.
This is some very exciting research.
Banking and cryo-storage of umbilical cord blood is now becoming a more recognized practice in order to allow children who may develop health conditions later in life to be able to draw from their own "allogenically"-derived therapeutic source.
I recently had a blood draw done on the same theory as the umbilically derived, for the similar purpose of isolating peripheral Adult stem cells. These were isolated at a time when I am in perfect health and will be cryo-banked for when, or even if I should ever need them for therapeutic purposes of my own at some later point in time.
In fact mine was the first such draw at the hospital at which I had this done and the medical professionals in attendance were amazed and to some degree as excited by the prospect of what I was doing I was.
I suspect they will see an increase in this practice over time
Very cool. I think I will look into doing the same. Thanks for that potentially life-saving tip!!!
I’m sure these bastions of Darwinism are going to cry “betrayal, after all we’ve done for you!!”.
“And, of course, it doesn't matter whether or not we think it's “fair” - he's God; he can do whatever he likes! It's like arguing with very stubborn, developmentally challenged children (which, as I suggest from time to time on Pharyngula and Ed Brayton’s blog, is how I feel they should be treated).”
Isn't that really the problem that the atheists have with thinking about the existence of a God that they might be accountable to? Ego? Who is He to tell these very smart men what to do and not even a “by your leave”!!!
Now THAT’s funny....
If I happen to have a doctoral degree from a Harvard graduate school.....I guess my words now must have more weight in the world of GGG? Does the HSPH count?
If the ICR is so proud of him, let’s see his CV.
wow...least credible ever?
Would it be more expedient to list his credible ones, and work from there?
Here, let me start:
Did your fingers suddenly cramp up? Look it up yourself.
Let’s see yours.
Well, what happened to the questioning of the source of a person’s degree? Suddenly it is of no import. That adequately demonstrates that the question was a red herring. Ad Hominem is Ad Hominem no matter the form. Likewise, Argument from Authority is a crippled argument, lacking any other support.
Some of you (plural) are so far out, I don’t want to let my real name out because I expect to be harassed if I did.
I have given enough clues in previous threads that you could find my published papers.
Of course you have to understand what I was talking about in the first place.
And I do understand..I really, really DO. And you do want to share, don't you?
