Palin gets 1,070+ invitations By: Mike Allen August 31, 2009 08:50 AM EST
Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin this week will begin accepting and rejecting the more than 1,070 invitations she has received for paid speeches and political appearances since she resigned as Alaska governor, aides said.
Twenty speakers bureaus made offers to represent her. She has signed with Washington Speakers Bureau, which represents everyone from George and Laura Bush to Bob Woodward and Katie Couric to Alan Greenspan, Colin Powell and Rudy Giuliani.
More than 950 requests for speeches have poured in for Palin, and over 120 candidates for office have asked her to appear, including folks running for Senate, House and state legislature, aides said.
Palin will be doing both paid speeches, which are expected to go for six figures apiece, and unpaid speeches for political and charitable causes, including Christian organizations, groups that support families with special-needs children, and military families.

Of course it was bungling by her Alaskan PR staff over the last nine months that gave the opening for that misimpression.
But she’s going to be just fine. The speakers bureau is great news. The number of invitations is impressive, and she’s going to be on solid financial, experiential and image grounds in plenty of time for 2012. Can you just imagine what her book sales will be?
I have no question after what I’ve seen in the last year that she has an exceptional moral and political compass, and that she’s been learning from her small missteps here and there. Along with being a genuinely nice person, she’s obviously incredibly tough and shrewd as well.
It’ll be our responsibility to see that her support isn’t diluted by false conservative hopes (yes, I’m talking about Huck, Gingrich, Romney and their like) in the primaries. But I think she’ll have established herself plenty by then.
Sorry, what’s come out repeatedly is that her same staff was leading these groups on to think that she was going to try to appear. Whether or not they should have run with it in their promotions, it was a PR blunder to give them that encouragement and opening.
Her PR person has almost the same first name as that pesky daughter of McCain. Wonder if that will create some unintended confusion.
What she went through as a high school girl playing basketball is more toughening and endurance than most of us exert for any one thing.
I’m not surprised that she’s been working like crazy on the book, is on track, and will be a powerful presence when she’s out there more publicly again.
This is a formidable and serious person who recognizes the need and calling for her to step up nationally, and she’s not going to let us or herself down.
Now she finds out that an overeager supporter will bill her as though she actually said she’d be there. Kind of like she never saw getting personally socked in the head through the ethics complaint loophole she shepherded into Alaska law. They’re understandable oversights. I just hope and pray there aren’t any more because this is hostile media kibble supreme.
Theres only her and her husband. How on earth is she able to do research on every single candidate with two people and filter all the speaking arrangement coming her way
Don’t tread on me!
Sarah 2012!
950 invitations to speak at events, 120 politicians looking for her help, plus charity events. Apparently these people didn’t get Axelrod’s memo that she is unpopular and finished.
This story will really set off the PDS sufferers. I’ve noticed lately that their attacks are becoming even more unhinged than before. Most of them are sounding like they were scribbled with crayon in an asylum someplace and on paper drenched in drool, and flecked with foam.
It will be fun to watch the meltdown that will follow this article.
Now, just imagine what would happen if Palin announced via Facebook that she will be speaking at the 9-12 event.
That’s what professional staff are for.
That’s right. She’d be the first person in history to rise to a high level without making and learning from mistakes—if that were the case. I put her in the fast learner category, and absolutely nobody is perfect.
according to zeigler, she doesnt really have anyone with her since she left governor. Its basically her, her husband and maybe one other (possibly the spokeperson)
Or sometimes Palin Madness Syndrome leads to their not even mentioning her when she’s the most obvious subject of their discussion, such as Ramesh’s 1350 words in search of a leader for the Republican Party. He doesn’t find one, but of course he goes out of his way not to point out the former Alaskan governor in the room:

She does need a larger team than that unless she or Todd is a data base manager guru. How to prioritize? She wants to help conservative causes, now she needs to crunch all the data that tells her where she will do the most good.
That’d be Meg Stapleton. And a thousand invites would mean about 125 a week since she stepped down. Again, the good news is she’s turning to a speakers bureau. And she’s almost got her book done! (How does that compare to Obama’s efficiency in fulfilling his first book contract?)
I see attacks from beyond this world intended to make her look bad. I was quite sincere that these were understandable gaffes and I would not think any the less of her for them. It’s what hell can make out of them in the sight of man that might matter. It’s a spiritual battle.

apparently obama is either a slow reader or lies about the book he reads as he’s still reading the book he said he was reading a year ago
I know—and I’m in total agreement with you.
The deranged nutjobs on the left are gonna stroke out over the money she's gonna rake in...LOL. I love it.
Great catch!
