HONG KONG Former U.S. vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin, once questioned about her lack of foreign policy experience, will make her first trip to Asia in September. The former Alaska governor will visit Hong Kong to address the CLSA Investors Forum, a well-known annual conference of global investment managers, the host announced Monday. Bill Clinton, Al Gore and Alan Greenspan have spoken at the event, hosted by brokerage and investment group CLSA Asia-Pacific Markets. "Our keynote speakers are notable luminaries who often address topics that go beyond traditional finance such as geopolitics," company spokeswoman Simone Wheeler said in a statement. "We just felt it would be a fabulous opportunity for CLSA clients to hear from Mrs. Palin," Wheeler said, adding that CLSA approached Palin with the offer. She said the conference aimed to present investors "a diversity of views that potentially influence decision-makers who help shape the markets." The Sept. 23 address will mark Palin's first commercial speaking engagement, according to CLSA. Her speaking fees were not disclosed. It will be closed to the media, and the topic has not yet been confirmed. Palin was criticized during last year's presidential election for her lack of experience in international affairs. She received her first passport in 2007 to visit Alaska National Guard members serving in Kuwait and Germany. Copyright © 2009 The Associated Press. All rights reserved.

Exactly. Sarah knows precisely what she’s doing and what she has to do. She’s calling her own shots and I applaud her.
Maybe you haven't noticed, but Palin is leading. Maybe you haven't noticed Obama and his democrat minions are still hurting from Palin's 'death panel' attack. Maybe you haven't noticed, Palin's following is growing. Maybe you haven't noticed, Palin is the #1 target of Democrats. Palin has been free from the shackles of being the Alaskan Governor for less than a month, and so far as made a huge splash.
Well, regardless of what YOU think she should be doing, she’s going to earn some money to help pay down a six-figure legal bill, thanks to a bunch of bogus “ethics” complaints, almost all of which have been dismissed.
Her legal defense fund is tied up and can’t be touched, thanks ironically to another bogus “ethics” complaint. So she is earning some money to help pay her bills and support her family. She’s also working on getting her book finished so she can earn some income from that.
As for those barricades you think she should be manning, she got the U.S. Senate to drop a death care provision with just a few posts on Facebook, so she is doing more than any other GOP figure to fight socialism right now.
Keep your pantyhose on. She will be out there in person all across America as soon as she takes care of some personal business.

If I were her I’d line up the best conservative speech-writer I could find and then practice, practice, practice. This is not a forum to go in there and wing it. If she comes off badly then it’ll only give ammo to her opposition.
My lord man.
Is your world that small?
Multitasking just isn’t your thing, is it!
Sarah is doing fine.
Sarah Palin, once questioned about her lack of foreign policy experience
UnNecessary AP editorial spin.
If true, this will be a speech worth hearing.
Sarah is making great progress and I applaud
her.
Go Sarah!
Nope and that’s the point. No one can.
SECURITY.......SECURITY........SECURITY.
Sarah Palin went to Southwest Asia last year. This will be her first trip to Southeast Asia.
Excellent post, tet68

It’s not multitasking if the main task isn’t being done.
The main task isn’t being done.
Now I realize that it’s still early. But pardon me for being shell-shocked after months of being told that Fred Thompson still has more time, has to do things on his schedule, yadda, yadda, yadda... and ended up being too late. Too late to do any good. With months of frittered-away opportunities behind him and nothing to show for them.
Forgive me for wanting to say, from the get-go, that Sarah can’t afford to make the mistake that Fred made, of waiting too long.
And before you say “but this isn’t a presidential campaign” let me head you off at the pass there and say I know that and I’m not saying she should run for president right now.
What we need right now is not just another presidential candidate.
We need a LEADER.
Someone to stop Obama from shutting down the internet. (Or maybe you haven’t heard.)
Someone to stop Obama from passing a no-public-option health plan that has a back-door public-option. (Or maybe you think that battle is already won.)
Someone to stop Obama from completely shutting down the energy industry with a commie-cap-n-trade bill. (Or maybe you just don’t think that’s an important issue.)
As for money... do you really think if Sarah barn-storms America that money is going to be a problem? Do you really, in your heart-of-hearts, believe that.
Oh lighten up louie.
I’m sure Sarah can handle whatever is thrown at her.
Do you really think just because she is going to give a speech in East Asia that she’s forgetting about everything else.
Please.
I know. Just cause you’re paranoid doesn’t mean everyone isn’t out to get you.
I have an opinion and I’m going to state it. If you can’t handle it, log on to Sesame Street and you’ll find nothing there to upset you.
News Flash: Even Sarah is capable of making mistakes.
I think she’s making one by delaying going into direct battle with the Socialist Monster in Washington.
That’s my opinion. If you can’t take it, too bad.

This is where the fight is.
This is where the fight continues to be.
Sarah should join the fight.
And I’m not talking about Facebook-fighting.
“Thats my opinion. If you cant take it, too bad.”
My opinion is that you are taking unwarranted pot shots at a person who many here support. If you can’t take the easily anticipated backlash, too bad.
Sarah Palin is doing exactly what is right and what she publicly stated she would be doing.. Hopefully she will never listen to wet-noodles like you.
sigh...Here we go again
It will be closed to the media, good idea to keep the media pigs at bay so they can’t twist, spin, filter, alter, flip the truth.
Meanwhile, there’s been another outbreak of Palin Madness Syndrome over at NROnline: Ramesh pens over 1350 words searching for a leader for the Republican Party, and he can’t bring himself to even mention the Republican that the base is, according to all polls, most solidly behind:
