HONG KONG — Former U.S. vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin, once questioned about her lack of foreign policy experience, will make her first trip to Asia in September. The former Alaska governor will visit Hong Kong to address the CLSA Investors Forum, a well-known annual conference of global investment managers, the host announced Monday. Bill Clinton, Al Gore and Alan Greenspan have spoken at the event, hosted by brokerage and investment group CLSA Asia-Pacific Markets. "Our keynote speakers are notable luminaries who often address topics that go beyond traditional finance such as geopolitics," company spokeswoman Simone Wheeler said in a statement. "We just felt it would be a fabulous opportunity for CLSA clients to hear from Mrs. Palin," Wheeler said, adding that CLSA approached Palin with the offer. She said the conference aimed to present investors "a diversity of views that potentially influence decision-makers who help shape the markets." The Sept. 23 address will mark Palin's first commercial speaking engagement, according to CLSA. Her speaking fees were not disclosed. It will be closed to the media, and the topic has not yet been confirmed. Palin was criticized during last year's presidential election for her lack of experience in international affairs. She received her first passport in 2007 to visit Alaska National Guard members serving in Kuwait and Germany. Copyright © 2009 The Associated Press. All rights reserved.

The media knows this, yet they can't tell us how many passports Barry has had in his lifetime and what nations issued them?

gotta love the ap..can just see future articles..

JAN 20, 2013: President-Elect Sarah Palin, who didn't have a passport until 2007 and was criticized in the 2008 elections for everything, was sworn in today as President. Even though every liberal snothead in the country voted against her, she still managed to squeak by with a 40 state win, fueled by the racist country that voted out President Obama. President Obama only presided over 22% unemployment, which could have been worse. Also, some bigots blamed him trading the terrorists who blew up Mt. Rushmore back to Libya for promises they would consider never ever to do that again.

If she's looking for something else to do in September she should be in Washington DC on the 12th.

Barry lacked foreign policy experience as well, so what did he do? HE visited a few foreign countries and that, to the media was enough to give him foreign policy experience

Palin is making all those people who criticized her for resigning look like idiots. With Palin’s hands free she is becoming the voice of conservatism and the #1 enemy of Barack Obama’s scheme to socialize our economy. Palin is proving to be a very powerful and competent force.

They also know that she’d been to Canada and Mexico, but it makes a better (and more misleading) story not to explain that.

Explain how you think this is good use of her time. Obama is making a bonfire of the US Constitution and she’s going to Hong Kong to do exactly what?

Shouldn’t she stay at home and concentrate on putting out the flames?

She's going to be earning money. Anything wrong with that?

I’ll wait and see if Meg Stapleton or Palin herself varifies that she is actually going. Too many groups are announcing she’s coming when in reality nothing has been confirmed.

???? Really? First Palin needs to build her brand and show she is competent in numerous areas. Second, she probably will use this forum to defend the Constitution and our Capitalistic society. Palin doesn't need to be in the US to be effective. So far she has been effective using Facebook and Tweeter, something she can easily do from Hong Kong.

Nothing wrong with earning money. If she comes to New Jersey to speak against SOCIALISM and charges an entrance fee (or asks for donations) I will fork over money.

I think she could be earning money all over America.

What should be her role, right now? What should she be doing?

Those are the questions she should be asking herself.

She can play the media-defined game of “earning credentials” on media-controlled turf with media-owned refs...an absolutely losing game for her no matter how she tries to play it.

Or she can get out there and do her damnedest to save the US CONSTITUTION from the Obama Flames of Socialism.

She should be touring America or in DC when the Enemy returns to Washington after their summer break. She should be on the barricades, not playing the media game (which she cannot win) of “earning credentials”.

Maybe you haven’t noticed, but there’s a revolution brewing right now and that revolution needs a leader. The first test of her leadership is to detect the FACT that we need her NOW.

Drat! I would have wished her first trip were to Japan, rather than to Red China.

Oh well. I don't schedule these things.

I think she's landed a cherry speaking engagement in Hong Kong and it's one closed to the media !

Sarah needs money to pay off the bills she incurred defending political lawsuits and this group's memebership could easily come in handy for her later on should her future endeavors necessitate political fund raising. :)

I have no idea why you think she's playing the media-defined game of earning her credentials, when it's quite obvious to me that she's merely earning money by speaking before an investor group that's previously hosted Alan Greenspan and Bill Clinton, no less.
