Victim Cried, Begged 'Don't Kill Me' in Brutal Mother-Son Gang Rape

Police say the defendants lured the woman, then 35, out of her apartment just a few miles from downtown West Palm Beach by claiming her truck had a flat tire. Three masked gunmen then forced her and her son, then 12, back inside. Others soon joined in the attack.

Lawson continued testifying Wednesday, describing the chaotic scene inside the woman's home, with attackers coming and going, raping the woman over and over, sodomizing her, beating the boy and forcing the mother to perform oral sex on her son.

Police say Lawson and the other defendants were among as many as 10 teenagers who attacked the woman and boy, and later doused the victims with cleaning solutions, nail polish remover and vinegar to clean the crime scene.

The victims had fled poverty in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, years earlier. With no money, they landed in the Dunbar Village housing project

Harriet Rogers, the mother of Dunbar Village rape suspect Tommy Poindexter, said she doesn't believe her son had anything to do with the June 18 assault. Her fiancé, Joseph Trowell, is in the background

She (his mother) said Poindexter is the youngest of her four children. He has a girlfriend, takes out the trash and plays with his nieces. He watches TV, plays video games and was planning to join the Job Corps to become a guidance counselor.

Rogers (Poindexter's mother) said she is a recovering crack cocaine addict who spent much of his childhood focused on getting high.

Poindexter appears to be a member of the increasingly violent and popular Buck Wild Gang, a group based in Riviera Beach responsible for several robberies and shootings. On the MySpace social networking Web site, pages affiliated with Buck Wild members showing guns, stacks of money and mug shots refer to Poindexter as a gang associate.

Robert Gershman, who represented Nathan Walker, asked the jurors to ignore morality, ignore the “hysteria” and ignore emotion. “No matter how morally reprehensible you believe the situation was, that plays no role.

Thats not a society, thats just a messed up bunch of psycho’s that think they can do what they want without consequence. Its all too common, that respect we had years ago is in short supply in kids today. Oh no doubt parenting is partly to blame but i believe that some kids are just born bad and when they hook up in groups....well.
