Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) said on Sunday that Vicki Kennedy should be considered to replace her late husband in the Senate.
Hatch, one of Kennedy's closest friends in the Senate, said on CNN's State of the Union that Vicki Kennedy is well-qualified to serve, even if only until a January special election to fill the rest of the term.
"I think Vicki ought to be considered. She's a very brilliant lawyer. She's a very solid individual. She certainly made a difference in Ted's life, let me tell you. And I have nothing but great respect for her," Hatch said on CNN.
Another close friend of Kennedy, Sen. Chris Dodd (D-Conn.), acknowledged that Vicki Kennedy has not expressed much interest in filling in for her husband, but said he would support her next step.

It belongs to the Kennedys.

The real problem is not just the Kennedys but the McKaskills and every other senator who now believe the seat is a inheritance.
I cannot imagine why being someone’s wife would qualify you for a senate seat. I guess this proves that senators aren’t really people with qualifications, they are simply people in the right place at the right time with the right connections. It would be so cool if the people of Mass rose up and said NO! But, they won’t. They apparently love their dynasty.

Funny it seems to me her name was Vicki Reggie(like most liberal women that refuse to take the married name of their Democrat husbands.........on second thought who cam blame them) She needs the Kennedy name for an election so..............

Might be a good time to remind the bottom of the gene pool serving in congress that, althought their idiot state co-criminals appointed them, their ignorant actions affect every other American citizen coast to coast!

Her father, Edmund Reggie , is a former judge from Crowley, La. He helped swing the Louisiana delegation to John F. Kennedy in his losing 1956 Democratic National Convention battle with Estes Kefauver for the party’s vice presidential nomination.
Four years later, Reggie managed JFK’s Louisiana campaign for president, as he did eight years hence for Robert F. Kennedy and again in 1980 when the sole surviving Kennedy brother, Edward, mounted his own White House run.
The family connection continued after Vicki Reggie graduated from Tulane University. She spent a summer as an intern in the mail room of Edward Kennedy’s Senate office, meeting her future husband just once. She later graduated from Tulane Law School and had a son, Curran, and a daughter, Caroline, with attorney Grier Raclin.
Vicki Reggie and Raclin divorced in 1990, about eight years after Kennedy was divorced from his first wife, Joan. In 1991, Vicki Reggie and Edward Kennedy began a relationship after she invited him to a 40th anniversary party in Washington she threw for her parents.
In January 1992, he proposed at a performance of the opera “La Boheme,” and the couple married in July — just in time to head for New York to host a party for the Massachusetts delegation at the Democratic National Convention.
The marriage also put a fresh shine on her husband’s tarnished personal image.
