REBRANDING OBAMACARE
NY Post ^ | August 29, 2009 | Editorial

Back in March, when Rush Limbaugh suggested that, by the time the debate was over, "it'll be called the Ted Kennedy Memorial Health Care Bill," he was rebuked by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee for his "outrageous" and "reprehensible" remark.

Guess what?

"I hope, when legislation has been signed into law, [it] will bear [Kennedy's] name for his commitment to insuring the health of every American," says West Virginia Democrat Robert Byrd, the Senate's most senior member.

Rush always says he knows them (the left) like every inch of his glorious naked body; he can always predict every move they’re going to make.

I hadn’t realized how over the top the Wellstone “memorial” was until Rush played some clips from it yesterday, btw. Wow. Dems are absolutely nuts. The thing that I found particularly unnerving was their leaders’ fondness for screaming some emotional shriek and then getting the whole crowd chanting the mindless refrain at the top of their lungs. Purely aside from the fact that this took place at a memorial service, it was blood curdling in itself.

Says a lot about the electorate in Minnesota, doesn't it?

It says a lot about the DFL electorate in Minnesota. All their recent elections have been stolen from the real Minnesotans by the same zombie thugs who rallied for Wellstone.

The normal Minnesotans _are_ to blame for allowing it to happen. It is just a microcosm of the entire country. We are all to blame for this horrid situation happening everywhere.

It is just a microcosm of the entire country.

It's a microcosm of certain parts of the country. There are places where some semblance of sanity is still maintained. Texas, Tennessee, and Oklahoma are examples.

If a public option bill does pass with the Kennedy name on it, the name will be cursed daily by millions of Americans.

Kennedycare (ptooie) I curse the name forever.

They really did sound like mindless thugs. It’s frightening to think that we have an electorate like that anywhere in the country, and even worse to think that we have politicians - heck, a whole party - that live by stirring up this mob mentality.

Don't believe for a minute that the bulk of elected Republicans, including virtually all of them in the Senate, are against Obamalamadingdongcare. The Republicans ushered in the Medicare Prescription Drug boondoggle which is nothing more than a giant step towards gubmint controlled health care. The Republicans are for power, their own power, just as much as the Dims and having the gubmint in control of every citizen's health care is power to the nth degree. I see very few Republicans stepping out and vocally siding with the Tea Party movement or those who have posed opposition at the various Town Halls. I hope other people are taking note of it, too, and remember come November of 2010.

The Republicans might not be out there trying to stir up the mob mentality as overtly as the Dims, but the bulk of them support gubmint controlled health care because it gives them absolute power and, with rare exception, that is what they all are after....

I think conservatives should call this bill KopechneCare, because while congress and the WH drive us, our health care, and our economy, into the river and leave us for dead, they’ll leave the scene of the crime and claim they had forgotten they had anything to do with it.

This is a very good insight. They'll take responsibility for nothing, not even their own words and deeds.

It should always be ObamaCare. If we allow the Dems to rebrand it, we are the losers. It is like accepting the term undocumented workers for illegal aliens. Obama is the President and he is responsible for this bill, not some dead former senator.
