ATTN Connecticut FReepers:
I received the following email from Joe Courtney's office this afternoon (I should be on his mailing list as I'm a bit of a pest):
In a continued effort to hear the views of my constituents, I will host a public Town Hall forum on Wednesday, September 2 at 6:30 PM to discuss the critical issue of health insurance reform. The forum, which is open to all Second District residents, will be held at Montville High School located at 800 Old Colchester Road in Oakdale.
This year, I have hosted or participated in more than fifteen public forums throughout the expansive Second Congressional District. In August alone, I have participated as a guest at a public forum in Woodstock with nearly 350 attendees, co-hosted a telephone town hall with AARP in which almost 9,000 district seniors participated and hosted a meeting with employees of L&M Hospital to discuss how the proposed health insurance legislation will impact their hospital. I have also taken the time to visit the homes of individuals who have contacted my office with questions about health insurance reform.
To continue gaining valuable and constructive input from you and all of my constituents, I hope that you will take the time to join me for this important public Town Hall meeting. To learn more about the proposed legislation, please visit my website. There you will find the bill and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs).
Should you have any comments or questions about this or any other issue, please do not hesitate to contact my Norwich District Office at (860) 886-0139 or by email at http://courtney.house.gov/email.
I look forward to speaking with you on Wednesday, September 2 at 6:30 PM at Montville High School.
Olson's rant was videotaped by I haven't seen it on You Tube yet.
Gee whiz Joe, I thought this was about HR3200, titled, "To provide affordable, quality health care for all Americans and reduce the growth in health care spending, and for other purposes."
I suspect those attending your town hall will want to talk about health care, not health insurance.
