Please do it. Write a couple of paragraphs. If you're just WAY too busy, just write a line. Just don't remain silent.
Phone calls are good, too. They get people's attention.
Please pass this request on to all your sympathetic contacts-- you don't have to be Catholic to express concern.
There is silence from Rome. For those with ears to hear this says alot.
I just think that conservative American Catholics need to do an old fashioned, American style Catholic revival with emphasis on ordering the Vatican to appoint more pro-American church leadership inside our hemisphere and teaching Hispanic Catholics to pay more attention to the bible itself.
Supposedly the church allows a wide range of local cultural influence such as in Africa, well they need to let some old fashioned Americanism influence Catholicism in America.
Don’t forget we have 6 Catholics on the Supreme Court.
I think that is probably because of the problem we are talking about, being Catholic isn’t really a problem to the left although they will make some noises about abortion.
We have six Catholics, two Jews, an Episcopalian, and one that is just described as “protestant”.
Our second largest religion in America behind Catholic is Southern Baptist, yet we don’t have them on the court. Southern Baptist is not a liberal democrat religion by any stretch.
I’m a Catholic and I dont like Teddy. But every baptized Catholic, no matter their sins, is entitled to a Mass of Christian Burial. At baptism Teddy received a small “pall” and at his funeral another “pall” will be placed on the casket It’s all part of a 2000 year old ritual. This pall is a reminder of the white baptismal garment, a sign of the Christian dignity of the person. Just as the new Christian was clothed in the white garment when he or she became a member of the Church, the coffin is covered with a white cloth as the person enters into a new life in the resurrection of Jesus. however, baptism remains the fundamental identity. Other emblems should not displace Christian symbols reminding the community of the persons baptism.
Did the election of a Kenyan Communist as President cause you to renounce your citizenship and leave the country and if not, why?
“I say to you, that even so there shall be joy in heaven upon one sinner that doth penance, more than upon ninety-nine just who need not penance.” Luke 15:7
Well the Cardinal changed his mind.

“You know, if I were a Catholic, this outrage of having a high mass for not only a baby killer but a cold blooded murderer would drive me right out of that religion.”
As a Catholic, and one who has been appalled for a long time over what Kennedy has stood for, I have to say that any Catholic who would be driven out of the Church over a funeral Mass for Kennedy, never really understood his/her faith. If one truly believes what the Church teaches (quite often different from what some members of the Church, including clergy, present as Church teaching) they would not walk away from Christ in the Eucharist.
....Well some Catholics have left the Church for even less.
All I can hope was that Sen.Ted made peace with God before he had passed.
