"I don't know if you know this or not, but one of his favorite topics of humor was indeed Chappaquiddick itself. And he would ask people, "have you heard any new jokes about Chappaquiddick?" That is just the most amazing thing. It's not that he didn't feel remorse about the death of Mary Jo Kopechne, but that he still always saw the other side of everything and the ridiculous side of things, too."

” Sorta gives a person a whole boatload of freedom. Well, until they meet the Face of Justice in the great beyond.
Teddy? Seen the flames yet? “
Ted: “ Remember Lord, I asked for Your forgiveness”
God: “Nice try”
Good one.
Sociopaths love to gloat they “got over” on somebody. Beating the system makes one a cause celebre in some circles. It’s a kind of twisted badge of honor.
Sorry MK. Ive been off line and doing other things for over 12 hours and didnt know you were still blathering on.
Of course, one reason I have a real life and interact with others is because I know how to show others respect and courtesy.
Better look into some supplements to bring down those dangerously high levels of hubris HJ, it sounds like your ego is just about to explode, LOL
Remember the libs’ reactions to GWB’s comments on Karla Faye Tucker? She was a convicted murderer on death row.
Also, GWB’s dui.
What the hell are you talking about?
I have a life. I have tons of friends in real life...friends who I hang out with on a regular basis.
*rolls eyes*
Rab,
I wasn’t tallking about you. It was addressed to MK.
MK,
Thanks for the advice. Im sure they work for you. LOL
Bottom line:
Ted Kennedy is dead. Period. Trashing him doesnt help us now (something I wish Rush would realize since he has spent an inordinate amount of time on him today).
Actually we need to be thankful about Teddy. He was too conceited to quit, so for the last six months, he was as good as a Republican since he couldnt come to the Senate floor to break a filibuster. Unfortunately, the Democratic replacement will be healthier.
Right now we need to worry about the damage being done by BO to this Republic. Yelling Traitor doesnt help stop the decline. Stopping Obama and the Dems requires dissecting their legislation and getting the word out in an intelligent, productive way. Thats what talk radio (Rush, Sean, etc.) did on ObamaCare and thats why we are winning on that front.
We need to keep up these tactics in order to stop the liberals and progressives who are trying to tear this country down.
Actually they didn’t work for me at all, LOL
Seriously now, it is far more important that we as conservatives fight tooth and nail to prevent the re-writing of history not only for us, but for future generations.
The canonization of Fat Teddy which is already underway is no different than the sanitizing of Soviet history to make Uncle Joe Stalin look like some kind of patron saint of Mother Russia, everyone and his dog knows he was a genocidal maniac and a butcher, and considering that Teddy-boy tried to sell us out to the Soviets, I consider him to be in the same category. They are both utterly despicable and without honor.
As for shouting ‘traitor’ about 0bama? What other word works? ‘Usurper’, maybe ‘Pretender’? The fact is our government has been seized by the latter day far-left descendants of the Communist Party (which is why I refer to them as ‘Obamunists’) and I find it highly improbable that we’re going to see another fair and honest national election in our lifetime. The ACORN/SEIU and other assorted 0bama-thugs are going to see to that, believe it.
0bama’s fatal weakness is his refusal to prove his Constitutional bonafides and that issue continues to percolate to the surface because millions of Americans all want to know “what does the SOB have to hide anyway?”
We can, and should and WILL beat that little bastard over the head with that issue until he either coughs up the documentation, somebody ‘Rats him out (pun intended), or he overreacts with his own version of Tiananmen Square (and then all bets are off and we’ll have our Second American Revolution).
Our recent sparring notwithstanding HJ, I think we’re pretty much on the same page, and I do understand your desire to show respect and courtesy and I’m not a total insufferable bore (just partially, lol), but when it comes to showing respect and courtesy to those entities who are doing their damndest to destroy this Republic and to rip apart the America that we love, I have none at all for those miserable POS’s, the only thing they’ll ever get from me is my spit in their face, my boot in their groin, and their teeth on the effin’ sidewalk if they ever get in MY face (referring to Comrade 0bama’s “get up in their faces” mantra).
Hope you have a good weekend HJ.
MKJ
I'm sure he did, but, as the Stones sang, "You can't always get what you want."
MKJ,
I agree that we are pretty much on the same page. And, like you I dont want Teddy made into a saint. And, the Dems are more than willing to change history to fit their needs - just like the USSR.
This is a scary time for the republic. We have never had a president that has the utter disregard for the Constitution as Obama. And, unfortunately, we have over a year before we can register our dissent at the polls. And, as quickly as he is trying to change society, I fear where we will be by November 2010 especially with new legislation like cyber-security legislation coming down the line. That gives him the ability to shut down any dissent.
At times like this, I remember Winston Churchill who enjoined the British to never give up. We will have to do the same.
Have a great weekend.
HJ
You are 100 percent correct.
Thanks HJ.
I’m not surprised. I’m sure Teddy resented the fact that people still gave him guff over the little old manslaughter he committed.
