A woman girl who has been missing from her South Lake Tahoe home has surfaced in Concord, 18 years after she was kidnapped, and two people are apparently in custody, her stepfather said today.
Jaycee Dugard, who would be 29 today, walked into the Concord Police Department on Wednesday, stunning police and family members who had all but lost hope that she was still alive.

A woman girl
Jaycee Dugard, who would be 29 today, walked into the Concord Police Department on Wednesday
Someone has issues.
good news ping ....
She was only 11-years-old when she was kidnapped if you read the article . It’s a miracle she is still alive !
It is. Happy endings such as this one very rarely occur.
“She was only 11-years-old when she was kidnapped if you read the article . Its a miracle she is still alive !”
I read the article and am thrilled that she is alive. That said, can you explain to me what a “woman girl” is?
PM to you.
I remember the case. The thing is, she is not confirmed to be Jaycee. This could be a hoax or some whack job pretending to be her to get media attention. I will wait for the DNA to come back confirming it’s her. If it is her, its a miracle
Turn your graphics on and you will see that I put a strike through “woman”. She was a girl when she disappeared, so it sounds ludicrous to say that a woman has been missing for 18 years.
She was an 11 girl when she was kidnapped . Now she is consider a woman according to the article .
Ah, you’re right. The strike-through doesn’t show on the main page with all the threads. It only shows when you actually open the thread. Who knew!
The creepiest part is that the mother actually witnessed the kiddnapping while her daughter was on the way to the bus stop to go to school. That must of been a real nightmare.
Good news indeed. I remember hearing about that one at the time. I’m glad she was able to come forward and for her mom and step dad, their nightmare is over. I’m looking forward to more on the story.
We were vacationing in South Lake Tahoe with our family less than a month after this happened. Jaycee’s face was on posters all over Lake Tahoe, and just seeing her photo again today takes me back many years to that sad time. And, our OWN daughter was the same age as Jaycee, so we were very empathetic. I’m SOOOO thankful that she is alive and well!
I thought it was her father watching, only a last name is given.
This story definitely needs a part 2 down the road.
This is so much better than winning the lottery! No comparison. Prayers for this young woman.
There is more information that has been added to the article. I’ve never seen an article revised like that. It’s a husband and wife who kidnapped the girl.
There's a time discrepancy in the article. The girl was kidnapped in '91, but the man was in jail at that time. Something is off.
Also, there was a TV plea that the mother made in ‘91. She said, “You may like her, but we love her.” What an odd thing to say when your daughter has been kidnapped.
